Serena Williams Slips Down In Ranking And Twitter Of Boyfriend Alexis Ohanian But Rocks Fashion Show At NYFW 2016
Serena Williams’ second half of 2016 has been full of trials. Not only did she lose in the semifinal of the US Open, relinquishing her world number one ranking to Angelique Kerber, but also she got unpinned from her boyfriend Alexis Ohanian’s Twitter page. But with NYFW 2016 in full swing, she is healing her ego through her fashion show that many celebrities attended.
Having slipped in her ranking, many would think that Serena Williams is letting her failure make her sad, she is channeling her energy towards her second passion — fashion.
“The 34-year-old professional athlete looked fierce as she strutted her stuff down the runway for her runway show as part of New York Fashion Week on Tuesday,” reports Daily Mail. “No doubt it was a big moment in her career off the court a she unveiled the Diamonds Unleashed for Serena Williams collection for Spring 2017.”
Celebrities like Ciara, Christina Milian, Anna Wintour, and Caroline Wozniacki came to support the tennis player show off her other talents.

The former world number one rocked yet another fashion show at NYFW 2016, showing the world that she has plans on increasing her net worth even when she is not doing so well professionally.
“Serena looked great in a peach-coloured see-through frock featuring a lacy detailing all over it,” reports Daily Mail. “She wore the racy garment over a similar-coloured bodysuit and black leather pumps for the stylish look.”
Her boyfriend Alexis Ohanian also was in full support of Serena Williams this NYFW. While he did not post any pictures about it, he did retweet Caroline Wozniacki’s post and added his own compliments to it.

No matter how successful her fashion show was in NYFW 2016, Serena cannot hide the fact that her ranking has changed. While she will still go down in history as the best tennis player ever, right now, she is second to Angelique Kerber in terms of WTA rankings.
“U.S. Open champion Angelique Kerber officially became the oldest woman to debut at No. 1 in the WTA rankings, ending Serena Williams’ record-tying run of 186 consecutive weeks in the top spot,” reports Denver Post. “Monday’s rankings are the first since February 2013 without Williams at No. 1. The 28-year-old Kerber’s rise from No. 2 was assured when Williams lost in the semifinals at Flushing Meadows.”
Until Serena lost her semifinal game, her boyfriend Alexis Ohanian had been in full support, posting pictures that were very supportive of her campaign.
Instead, Angelique Kerber was able to defend her title from last year, showing that she is ready to take women’s tennis by storm. Not only that, the recent update in rankings show that she is ready to end Serena Williams’ dominance.
With NYFW and US Open 2016 behind them, Alexis Ohanian has unpinned the tweet about Serena Williams from his Twitter page. His pinned tweet used to feature Serena’s 73 Questions with Vogue, which revealed a new side to the former world number one.
She even hinted about his relationship with Alexis in her interview.
When the interviewer asked what the most romantic thing that a guy has ever done for her, she promptly responded, “it hasn’t happened yet.” Maybe that was her way of hinting to Alexis that he should step up his game!
But during the interview, when it came to naming her favorite app, Serena didn’t hesitate to answer that it was Reddit, which her boyfriend created.
It looks like, as much as Alexis supports her, she is in full support of his endeavors.
