‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Season 2: Will Madison And Nick Meet Up In Episode 12?

It has only been four episodes since Madison Clark allowed her son, Nick, to fend for himself among the infected in Fear the Walking Dead. Madison is determined to meet up with him again at some point, but could that happen as early as Episode 12?

Spoiler alert: This article discusses Season 2 of AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead. Please proceed with caution if you wish to avoid spoilers.

In the Season 2 mid-season finale of Fear the Walking Dead, Nick Clark (Frank Dillane) convinced his mother, Madison, that he wanted to head off by himself. Madison was not happy with this but allowed him to go because, in the past, Nick had broached the fact Madison could be very controlling of Nick thanks to his drug addiction.

Fans expected AMC to drag out any chance of a reunion between mother and son for quite some time. But, could a reunion between Madison and Nick happen as early as Episode 12 of Fear the Walking Dead?

Fear‘s showrunner, Dave Erickson has previously revealed to TVLine that the groups will slowly come back together in the second half of Season 2 and moving forward into Season 3 of Fear the Walking Dead.

“It’s a fractured family by the end of [the mid-season finale], and part of the challenge in the back half [of Season 2] is to see how and when they start to come together again. Some of it happens in the back half of Season 2, and some of it will spill over into Season 3.”

While there has been no indication that either Nick or Madison’s group are on the move, an image (seen above) released by AMC for Episode 12 of Fear the Walking Dead shows Madison standing in what appears to be the same building Nick and Luciana (Danay Garcia) went shopping for supplies back in Episode 9. You can see an image still for Episode 9 below that shows the warehouse.

Comparing the two images from Fear the Walking Dead, it looks like, in Episode 12, Madison is standing in front of the first row seen in the image from Episode 9. She has a row of shelving on one side and what looks like wooden crates on the other, which can bee seen tucked away next to the red shopping cart in the Episode 9 image. The floor looks identical in both images as well.

So how has Madison ended up in the same place Nick likes to frequent in Fear the Walking Dead? And will her and Nick see each other in Episode 12 as a result of this?

Considering Nick was cutting drugs in Episode 11 of Fear the Walking Dead, it would imply he and Luciana are planning a return visit fairly soon to trade their drugs for supplies. So, potentially, Madison and Nick could turn up at the same place at the same time in Episode 12. Alternatively, AMC could drag this out for some time and have Nick and Madison miss each other every time they visit.

But why is Madison even there? After all, Episode 11 of Fear the Walking Dead saw her starting to bring the two conflicting groups staying at the hotel back together. There is plenty of food in the hotel, but one group doesn’t want to share it with the other on account of the fact Elena (Karen Bethzabe) locked the other group into a reception room with the infected, causing the deaths of many loved ones in the first group. Perhaps Madison and Elena are forced to look elsewhere for supplies as a result of this. The Episode 12 image for Fear the Walking Dead (shown below) indicates Elena has certainly accompanied Madison there are she is shown in front of a shopping cart and similar chairs seen in the Episode 9 still.

Considering Elena is a local, perhaps she knew of this place before the zombie apocalypse and had used it when ordering supplies for the hotel. If this is the case, it is plausible for Madison and her to turn up there hoping to find supplies. However, viewers know this place is now being protected by a group of people that will only barter their supplies. So, what will happen in Episode 12 when these two women turn up with nothing to barter? Only by tuning into Episode 12 of Fear the Walking Dead will all be revealed.
