Dolores Catania’s Divorce From Frankel Catania: We Are ‘Truly Best Friends’

Dolores Catania is a new housewife on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, and because the focus is on Teresa Giudice and her relationships with Melissa Gorga and Jacqueline Laurita, Dolores hasn’t exactly gotten as much airtime. But fans are still curious about Catania’s divorce, which is something she has brought up several times. Dolores didn’t get divorced right before she started filming the show, but she did feel that she wanted to talk about her divorce on the show because it was such a big part of her life.

According to a new Bravo report, Dolores Catania is now revealing that she’s still good friends with her ex-husband despite getting divorced. Some people are just not meant to be together, but Catania and her ex-husband remain great friends even though they don’t live together anymore. While they do bicker on occasion, it sounds like they can stay civil for the sake of their children and friendship.

“This episode was all about letting go of the familiar for me. I let go of my dear Boo, and I also took a big step in letting go of the “old” Dolores,” Dolores Catania writes in her Bravo blog, sharing that the death of her dog was something that made her question the way she was living her life.

It was indeed time to start a new chapter of her life, one that she had wanted to do for a long time. Catania went on The Real Housewives of New Jersey with the goal of having fun on a reality show, but she quickly started renovating her home to get a fresh start.

And it sounds like her children are indeed getting tired of living in a renovation space. Even though she wanted to renovate her home, Dolores Catania is now revealing that she doesn’t hold a grudge against her ex-husband after their divorce.

“Every relationship has its own way of working; what works for some doesn’t always work for everyone else. Before and after our divorce, Frank and I both believed that our children’s happiness comes first. We both firmly felt that it was best for our family that I was around for the kids 24/7, and we were both willing to make sacrifices to make that happen. You see, we may be divorced, but we are still a FAMILY. We will always be tied together, and I’m so proud of where we all are,” Dolores Catania reveals about her ex-husband, Frankel, who is not a big part of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

On last night’s episode of the show, Dolores was on the phone with her ex-husband, where she revealed that he walked out on her for years, so she didn’t expect him to know where their son was. As it turns out, their son was out with friends, as he was tired of living in a construction zone. But Catania believes that it’s all good now.

“Even though we live in two separate homes, I have always trusted Frank wholeheartedly to handle our family’s finances. Now that Frankie has his license, and we will soon have two college students leaving the nest, the timing was perfect for me to get back to working outside of the house,” Dolores Catania adds in her blog for The Real Housewives of New Jersey, according to Bravo, adding, “My ex-husband and I are truly best friends, my children are well adjusted and HAPPY, I’m happy – LIFE IS GOOD!”

It is possible that Dolores Catania and Frank got divorced because they were fighting. On her Instagram account, Catania posted a quote, where she revealed that when Italians fight, it’s like a war. And that could have been true for them.
