Taylor Swift, Tom Hiddleston Split Claims Clash: Who Got Dumped And Who Trumped?

Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston, once known as Hiddleswift at the height of their short but highly publicized romance, are no longer a couple. But their breakup remains a hot topic as members of Team Taylor are clashing with representatives from Camp Tom as to just who got dumped, and who trumped.

Hiddleston’s pals claim that Tom decided to dump his now-former girlfriend because he got “tired of her,” reported Cosmopolitan.

The 26-year-old singer and 35-year-old actor survived three months before calling it quits. Initial reports indicated that Taylor had dumped Tom, but his buddies insist on their version of the story, which claims that Hiddleston was the one who booted Swift.

As evidence for Team Tom, the actor has become famed for having a serial dating style, and his pals have mocked Hiddleston’s “three-month rule” when it comes to his revolving doors romantic relationships. A producer who worked with Tom termed the claims that the actor had been dumped as missing the mark.

“[Tom] grew tired of Taylor, it wasn’t the other way round.”

The conflicting reports also included an allegation that Hiddleston was pushing for a public relationship, and Swift didn’t want the spotlight on their romance. Public displays of affection can result in a backlash (are you listening, Justin Bieber and Sofia Richie?), but when Taylor talked with Tom about that concern, he reportedly ignored her.

“Taylor knew the backlash that comes with public displays of affection but Tom didn’t listen to her concerns when she brought them up,” revealed the source cited by Cosmo.

However, one of Hiddleston’s loyal pals denied that version of the split story.

“Tom drifted from her and it had nothing to do with her being put off by the publicity,” said Tom’s buddy.

“It’s more to do with the fact [that Tom is] a commitment-phobe who gets bored very easily.”

The friend revealed that even Hiddleston’s sisters tease him about his “lack of relationship staying power.”

However, Us Weekly‘s insiders have a different version of the love story turned split story.

Multiple sources told Us that Taylor had been the one who ended her romance with Tom.

“It was an intense start,” pointed out a Hiddleston family insider. “No one can keep that kind of momentum going.”

In this report, Taylor’s love life tends to resemble a car that speeds up until it gets out of control, with a calamity (i.e., a bad breakup) seeming almost inevitable. One of the insiders revealed that the singer “dives headfirst into relationships.”

Swift herself has been candid in interviews about having an all-or-nothing approach to romance.

“I don’t think there’s an option for me to fall in love slowly, or at medium speed. I either do or I don’t.”

One of the sources emphasized that Taylor was the one who switched from fast speed to putting on the brakes and breaking up with Tom.

“She was the one to put the brakes on the relationship,” said the insider. “They get along great and will remain friends, but they just don’t see it working romantically right now.”

The Daily Mail also supports the version of the split that claims Swift dumped Hiddleston, citing an insider who said that the singer did not like Tom’s “love of the limelight.” The pop singer was “uncomfortable” with the way that Hiddleston wanted to be “so public” about their relationship.

Tom reportedly had invited Taylor to accompany him to the Emmy Awards, but she started to worry that he might not be invested in her for the “right reasons,” with that concern escalating to the point where she allegedly dumped him. Swift is known for avoiding red carpet appearances with boyfriends.

“Tom wants their relationship to be public, even asking Taylor to go to the Emmys with him, but Taylor wants to keep her private life private,” explained the source.

“Tom’s need for their relationship to be so public so quickly makes her uncomfortable.”

Three months together apparently isn’t enough to qualify for a red carpet appearance in Swift’s view, according to the Daily Mail‘s source. She did reportedly attempt to be all right with Hiddleston’s desire to publicize their relationship initially.

“She tried to be OK with it in the beginning but fears he is in love with the idea of her and not falling in love with her for the right reasons,” added the insider.
