Cat Deeley, Patrick Kielty Married In Secret Ceremony In Rome

Cat Deeley and boyfriend Patrick Kielty were married in a secret ceremony in Rome this weekend.

The nuptials were so closely guarded that the star of So You Think You Can Dance even kept the details secret from friends and family, TVGuide.com reported. About 60 people were reportedly invited to the ceremony held at St. Isidore’s College Church, The Sun reported.

Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty met while they hosted the BBC1 talent show Fame Academy. They had been friends for close to a decade, and about 10 months ago began being linked romantically.

While the couple, nicknamed PatCat in the press, reportedly worked hard to keep secret the details of the wedding, it doesn’t appear to have been a rushed affair. They selected a venue that “specializes in giving Irish people dream weddings close to the Vatican,” the Sun reported.

Patrick Kielty flew in Father Gary Donegan, a priest friend from Belfast, to conduct the ceremony on Saturday. Cat Deeley’s radio friend, DJ Edith Bowman, was also a bridesmaid.

“Cat was stunning, she looked absolutely beautiful, and the reception afterwards was pretty quiet too by normal standards,” one of the guests told the Sun. “The wedding plans were top secret. Friends of Paddy and Cat only found out in the last few days.”

Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty paid to have their friends and family flown to Rome on Friday and Saturday.

Even the church was tight-lippped about the Cat Deeley-Patrick Kielty nuptials, People reported. The head of St. Isadore’s College, Father Michael MacCraith, said he wouldn’t confirm that the Emmy nominated television host and comedian were married there, but did say that a well-known international person was indeed get married there on Saturday and that the ceremony was in English.
