It came as no surprise that Stranger Things is coming back for Season 2 after the binge-worthy first eight episodes.
The 80's inspired series is coming back with a bigger budget, which will allow the Duffer brothers to show us more of the Upside Down world.
The show creators have discussed having an abundance of material to work on and the series potentially going on for several seasons.
Stranger Things Season 2 will start one year after the events of the Season 1 finale. This is partly due to the young cast members maturing.Breakout star Gaten Matarazzo appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to discuss his voice, which one of the show creators mentioned was a sign that the cast members are maturing.
The plot will help the audience figure out what happened in the year.
The Duffer Brothers see Stranger Things as more of a long movie and Season 2 as the sequel. The next installment will draw inspiration from movies that were released around 1984. Most of the inspiration comes from James Cameron. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the Duffer brothers spoke about which of his films will inspire the next season.
"There's Temple of Doom, Aliens, Terminator 2. I guess a lot of this is James Cameron. But he's brilliant. And I think one of the reasons his sequels are as successful as they are is he makes them feel very different without losing what we loved about the original. So I think we kinda looked to him and what he does and tried to capture a little bit of the magic of his work."
There will be four new cast members in Stranger Things Season 2, according to the showrunners.
There will be nine episodes next season and the titles have been released. One gives a clue as to who one of the new cast members will be.
- "The Boy Who Came Back to Life"
- "The Pumpkin Patch"
- "The Palace"
- "The Storm"
- "The Pollywog"
- "The Secret Cabin"
- "The Brain"
- "The Lost Brother"
"Billy is a super muscular, overconfident 17-year-old. He's so captivating and edgy that there are rumors flying around that he killed someone at a school he attended in the past. Billy steals peoples' girlfriends, is a drinking-game pro and drives a black Camaro. But his violent and unpredictable nature shows itself to those closest to him, especially to ones who are younger than he is."Eleven, who is played by Millie Bobby Brown is a fan favorite, but Ross Duffer has not confirmed that she will be returning in Season 2.
It is also possible that Eleven returns in Season 3 or there is a big reveal that the showrunners want to keep secret.
Most of the original cast is expected to return in addition to the new cast members.
The Season 2 premiere will not take place in Hawkins, which is the town that the series is based on. Matt Duffer stated that the show will explore other areas other than the town.
We are going to know a lot more about the mysterious Upside Down dimension.
"We obviously have this gate to another dimension, which is still very much open in the town of Hawkins. And a lot of questions there in terms of, if the Monster is dead, was it a singular monster?" Matt Duffer told EW.
There is a lot to look forward to in the next season of Stranger Things, which is expected to be released next year on Netflix.
