Matt Forte A Game Time Decision For Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears could be without running back Matt Forte again this week.

According to Sports Illustrated, the star running back will be a game time decision for the Bears game tonight against the Dallas Cowboys for Monday Night Football.

Forte injured his ankle during the Bears’ loss to the Green Bay Packers on September 13. Forte missed last weeks game and has had limited participation during practice this week.

Coach Lovie Smith said:

“It’s a game-time decision for Matt… He’s made a lot of progress. We’ll get over to the stadium, see how he does then and decide.”

According to NFL.com, it looks like Forte will take the field. NFL Network contributor Jay Glazer wrote on Twitter: “Sources tell me barring a freak setback Matt Forte is healthy and set to play tonight. He’s telling teammates he will be active, good to go!”

If Forte does not play tonight against the Dallas Cowboys the Chicago Bears will play Michael Bush.

The Bears were able to defeat the Rams last week without their star running back but they could use an extra offensive weapon tonight against the Cowboys.

In addition to Forte, wide receiver Earl Bennett is also questionable.
