Arnold Schwarzenegger’s affair with Brigitte Nielson was one of many secrets he kept from his wife Maria Shriver during their marriage, but, though he has come clean about many of his lies, friends of Shriver say Arnold still isn’t telling the whole truth.
Schwarzenegger appeared on 60 Minutes to discuss his affairs on Maria Shriver during their marriage, at one point saying that she knew about all of his trysts. A source close to Shriver said Arnold Schwarzenegger was lying again, telling TMZ that, if she had known about the affairs, she would have never defended Arnold against allegations of groping that emerged several years ago. The source adds that if Maria Shriver had known, she would have have ended the marriage with Arnold almost immediately.
A different source told TMZ that Maria Shriver had her suspicions about Arnold Schwarzenegger’s affairs, but they never talked about it until she confronted him about an affair with maid Mildred Baena, with whom he had a child.
Appearing on 60 Minutes, Arnold Schwarzenegger confessed other infidelity while promoting his book, Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story. Calling himself “an expert in living in denial,” he admitting hiding all kinds of things, from his intention to run for governor to having open-heart surgery, Yahoo! TV reported.
“That’s the way I handle things,” Schwarzenegger said of keeping secrets. “And it always has worked. But, I mean it does not – it’s not the best thing for people around me because I sometimes – some information I just keep to myself.”
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s affair with actress Brigitte Nielsen has gained the most traction in the media in recent days. News of what Schwarzenegger called a “hot affair” was actually brought to light long ago in Nielsen’s biography.
