‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Spoilers: Alex Facing Prison, Falls For Meredith In Season 13?
Grey’s Anatomy Season 13 spoilers are starting to roll in as the premiere is just days away. In the newly released preview for the first episode of the season the drama is really hitting the fan. Alex is facing losing his medical career and possible prison time for his assault on Dr. Andrew DeLuca, and Meredith seems to be the only one who is standing by his side.
According to TV Line, The Grey’s Anatomy Season 13 premiere is going to be crazy. It will seemingly pick up where Season 12 left off, and for Alex that means trouble. As viewers will remember, Alex had asked his girlfriend Jo to marry him. Sadly, Jo refused his proposal. Later, a drunk Jo tells Andrew that she can’t marry Alex because she’s already married.
That’s right, Jo has been secretly married all along. She tells Andrew that she was married young and that the man was very abusive. Finally, Jo escaped his clutches, but has been hiding from him ever since. Jo revealed that she doesn’t even use her real name, and that Alex has no idea about her husband. Jo then drunkenly begins stripping off her clothes to get ready for bed, not realizing it’s inappropriate to do so in front of Andrew.
During this time, Andrew is being a perfect gentleman. He decides to help Jo into bed when Alex walks into the apartment. Of course, Alex gets the wrong impression and believes that Andrew is taking advantage of a drunk Jo. Alex loses his temper in a big way and begins punching Andrew. It seems Alex is taking out all of his frustrations on his co-worker, because the beating goes on for far too long.
In the newly released preview for the Grey’s Anatomy Season 7 premiere, Andrew is rushed to the hospital and his life is hanging in the balance. Alex doesn’t tell anyone that he’s the one who assaulted Andrew, but Meredith knows the truth. Meredith, who considers Alex her best friend now that Cristina Yang lives in another country, keeps his secret.
However, Meredith realizes that Alex is in hot water, and tells him that he could go to jail for his crime. Meanwhile, Ben reveals that whoever assaulted Andrew will most definitely lose their career as a result. Will Andrew pull through and spill the beans about Alex?
It looks like Alex is back to his old ways of finding himself in troubled situations. Sadly, this altercation and the reveal that Jo is secretly married could be the end of the line for Alex and Jo’s relationship. If Alex and Jo were to split, Grey’s Anatomy fans are already rooting for him to fall in love with Meredith.
Many Grey’s Anatomy viewers have been pulling for a Meredith and Alex relationship since Meredith’s husband, Dr. Derek Shepherd, died in Season 11. Now that Meredith seems ready to move on in the romance department, could this ordeal with Alex be the first step to the pair coupling up?
The show’s creator, Shonda Rhimes, has already revealed that Season 13 will focus a lot of attention on the original cast members, and it doesn’t get anymore original than Meredith and Alex. The two are the only remaining members of their intern class, and have been through every single obstacle that has been faced at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. However, Meredith has recently started a fling with Dr. Nathan Riggs, and that could be a hurdle for she and Alex if the writers were to try and put the two friends together romantically.
