‘The Bachelor’ Nick Viall Wishes Best For Jen, Shares Thoughts On Journey, And Contestant Speculation Begins

The world was shocked when runner-up Nick Viall was unexpectedly announced to be The Bachelor for the upcoming 2017 season. Knowing a break-up was coming, viewers watched as an emotional Nick dumped Jen Saviano at the final rose ceremony on season three of Bachelor in Paradise. Now that the season is over, fans are starting to hear more from Nick about his upcoming journey and his thoughts on Jen. Reality Steve is also already weighing in on contestant news for Nick’s season.

After Nick was announced as the new Bachelor, everyone knew Nick and Jen’s romance was going to come to an end, but they just didn’t know exactly how. The Bachelor nation watched as Jen shared her love for Viall, and he painfully told her he did not feel the same. After the show aired, Nick took to Instagram to share his thoughts about Jen. Viall said it was not easy to tell her goodbye. He went on to share how amazing he thinks Jen is. Nick said, “One of the most beautiful, graceful, and intelligent women I’ve ever met. So lucky to have had her in my life. She deserves the world.”

Jen was obviously hurt by the break-up. US Weekly shared that Saviano has moved on and that she is doing well. While she claims to have moved on, she did share that “there’s definitely mixed emotions” about Nick being the next Bachelor. Some fans are hoping Jen will make an appearance on the upcoming season to try and win Nick back. That seems highly unlikely after someone on Twitter asked who would be joining the season, and Jen tweeted back, “Not I.”

If Jen will not be a contestant trying to win Nick’s heart, who will? Reality Steve is well known for spoiling The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. He has already taken to his blog to share information that he does already know who some of the contestants will be for Nick’s upcoming season. He will not be officially releasing names of the women until Nick’s season starts filming towards the end of September, but he did say the overall criteria will be the same as it is every year. He said there would be the overly emotional girl, the drunk girl. the insecure girl, the girl with no filter, and the villain. He concluded by saying, “Same thing, different season. But it’ll be awfully fun to spoil again. Can’t wait.” Steve has also shared he thinks a few former contestants will make their way onto the show to meet Nick.

Viall does not have long to prepare himself for the role. USA Today shared that even Nick was surprised when he was offered The Bachelor opportunity not very long ago. Viall revealed on Good Morning America he did not immediately accept the offer to hand out the roses next season. Nick shared he did not have very long to consider the role, but he did take a few days to think things over. Nick did admit to being very nervous about the journey he is about to take. Viall said, “It’s a huge responsibility, and there’s a lot of expectations that come with it.” Nick went on to say that he understands there are no guarantees with the role either. He said you never know if you will find chemistry and if that connection will be mutual.

Nick will be making his fourth appearance on the franchise when the season starts. Viall has made himself known for being the runner-up on previous seasons, and his second place status still follows him with continuous jokes, as seen above. Nick was second in both Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe’s seasons of The Bachelorette when they both ultimately chose someone else over Viall. After all he has endured with the franchise, Nick is definitely deserving of finally finding a lasting love.

Viall’s season of The Bachelor will begin filming the end of this month and wrap up in November. Who would you like to see return to try and fall in love with Nick? Do you think Nick will finally find the woman he is meant to be with? The season premiere of The Bachelor is scheduled to air on ABC in early January 2017.
