Perrie Edwards’ Trust Issues Spiral As She Plans To Expose Zayn Malik

Perrie Edwards is still having trust issues after her split with Zayn Malik. The couple called off their engagement in late August 2015. Although both Perrie and Zayn have since moved on, the Little Mix singer is not ready for another relationship.

Edwards, 23, has been since linked to British actor Luke Pasqualino. The two were spotted on their first date last month. However, a source told Britain’s Look magazine, via the International Business Times, that Edwards is not ready to get serious with the former Skins star.

“Luke’s really been pursuing Perrie. But she’s been extremely burnt in the past and she’s definitely been holding off from committing too soon. Perrie felt that when she and Zayn were together she very much gave him everything and ultimately it didn’t work. Now she’s a lot more cautious. She finds it quite hard to trust people these days.”

Malik and Edwards began dating in December of 2011 after the two met on the set of The X Factor. Before pursuing his solo career, Malik was part of One Direction, while Edwards was starting out with her girl group, Little Mix. The couple then got engaged in August 2013 and were reportedly planning to get married at Disneyland Paris in June 2015, which of course, did not happen.

Little Mix’s fans have been having a meltdown over their new single “Shout Out to My Ex,” reports the Daily Star. It was previously reported that the girls would address their recent heartbreak on their new album. Fans are looking forward to Edwards spilling the details about her split with Malik. Now, it looks like it’s going to happen since Little Mix shot the video for the single in Spain.

Some set photos from the shoot leaked earlier this week. Little Mix’s fans found the photos on the director and choreographer’s Instagram accounts. Once they found out, they deleted the pictures and made their accounts private. A model, who is supposedly part of the music video, posted a picture on Instagram that features the hashtags #ShoutOutToMyEx and #ComingSoon. The male model also draws a striking resemblance to Malik, notes the British tabloid.

Meanwhile, other fans suggested that the song and video could also be about Leigh-Anne Pinnock’s ex-boyfriend, Jordan Kiffin. The new song is also written by the same people who wrote Little Mix’s debut single “Wings,” as well as “Black Magic,” “DNA,” and “Salute.”

Edwards’ fellow member Jesy Nelson previously told the Sun where the girls sought inspiration for their upcoming album.

“It is a lot more mature, this album. There’s a lot of things that have been said that perhaps nobody has heard yet, if you know what I mean. I think it’s pretty obvious. I think all the songs are very relatable to girls, and our fan base in general.”

In another interview with Sugarscape, Edwards has revealed that she finds the songwriting and recording process very therapeutic, cites the Mirror.

“It’s very – and I know we probably said this about the last album – honest. It’s very what’s been happening in the past few months or the past year. We’ve been through a lot personally, emotionally and career-wise. Every aspect, we’ve wanted to just get off our chest and the best way to do it is with this album. That’s why we’re loving it so much. It’s like therapy.”

Edwards also hinted that although their album is going to sound a lot like Get Weird, it’s going to have some mature songs. So, expect a mix between Salute and Get Weird on their new album.
