Darren Seals’ Death: Killed Activist’s Twitter, ‘Facebook Live’ Report Of 10 Cops Pulling Guns On Him Gets Buzz

The Facebook and Twitter accounts of Darren Seals are very popular on Wednesday, September 7. According to Facebook, more than 60,000 people are discussing Seals of St. Louis. A variation of the spelling of Seals’ name — spelled as “Daren Seals” — has more than 50,000 people discussing Seals on Facebook.

On Twitter, one tweet from Darren’s account, , is getting plenty of attention. Published to Twitter on July 25, at 1:26 a.m., Seals wrote that he had been pulled over by 10 detectives, while his 14-year-old brother was in the car. The ominous warning that Darren wrote that he received from the police is haunting in the wake of the news of the death of Seals.

“Yea 10 detectives pulled me and my 14 year old brother over, pointed guns on us, and told me ‘choose your enemies wisely.'”

The fact Seals was a prominent activist who was a leader of protests in Ferguson, Missouri, a man who was found dead with a gunshot wound inside a car that had been set on fire — as reported by Time — is causing a big reaction to Darren’s death on social media.

Ironically, it was also in the middle of the night — at approximately 1:50 a.m. — when Seals’ body was found. The 29-year-old Darren came into the public eye two years ago, after Michael Brown was fatally shot by police. Brown can be seen in the photo below, as displayed in the earrings worn by Michael’s mother, Lesley McSpadden.

During those protests, Darren was an outspoken leader across the city.

According to NBC News, there is some confusion about the spelling of the first name of Seals. Darren is spelled as such on the social media accounts of Seals. However, police identified the victim who died as “Daren Seals.”

Seals was discovered dead inside a car in St. Louis on Diamond Drive in Riverview.

Darren had previously been pretty active on social media, with Seals having uploaded a Facebook Live video that described his interaction with the Ferguson Police Department, as reported by the St. Louis American.

Now Darren’s death is bringing outrage across social media from those who theorize that the killing of Seals may have been related to Darren’s activism. Seals worked in a factory and was also a hip-hop artist. The fact that Darren was discovered with a gunshot wound inside a burning car has folks wondering if Seals’ killer was trying to hide evidence — and wondering more about exactly who Darren’s killer or killers may have been.
