‘Below Deck’ Season 4 Sets Sail: ‘Stud Of The Sea’ Captain Lee, Chef Ben Robinson Dish Sneak Peeks

Below Deck fans longing to sail the TV seas again with Captain Lee Rosbach, Chef Ben Robinson, and other guaranteed-to-bring-the-drama cast mates will have their wishes fulfilled at last. Both Lee and Ben are serving up some tasty previews of the excitement ahead, from the unexpected to the enchanting.

When it comes to the Below Deck Captain’s predictions for season 4, it’s not exactly calm seas. The ocean king famously dubbed “Stud Of The Sea” told People that even he was surprised by some of what happens.

Lee also is known for his memorable one-liners, and he dished those out as well in offering a sneak peek.

“There are some things that definitely get my attention. I’m a pretty easy read, I kind of wear everything out on my sleeve, so you can tell by my expressions when I’m caught off guard or caught by surprise,” admitted the Captain.

“I don’t surprise easily, and this season surprised me – in a good way.”

Some of the biggest drama involves the deckhands. Kelly Johnson is returning to the cast, but this time it’s in a role as bosun. And Below Deck steers straight into the excitement over the change.

In Season 2 of Below Deck, Johnson was a green deckhand. But fans who remember him as somewhat immature on occasion will see Kelly in a new way this time around.

“A lot can happen in a lot of years and Kelley had a maturation process to go through, and I think that when everybody gets done viewing this season they’ll see whether that transpired or it didn’t,” teased Lee.

It’s not just the Captain who is known for bringing wit and wisdom to the deck. Lee praised chef Ben for being “just hilarious,” while he summed up Chief Stewardess Kate Chastain as the queen of “dry, cunning, quick wit.”

Below Deck this season will mix those familiar faces with some newbies on the ship, and the Captain also hinted that viewers would enjoy some surprises with what happens after they become acclimated.

“When you meet someone for the first time they put their best foot forward, but after the newness wears off and you’re with them a few days, things don’t always go as planned,” he pointed out, providing a classic one liner on the topic.

“You kind of get a feel for what their real personality is like and how much of it was real and how much of it was bulls***.”

As for what his family thinks of his new “Stud Of The Sea” image? They’ve joined fans in enjoying it, he admitted.

“My family gets a lot of mileage out of that stuff,” confessed Lee. “They think it’s quite hilarious and the network did a great job with it [the commercial]. I think it’s great. I’m having fun with it.”

The Below Deck star also offered updates on a few cast from last season. He hasn’t heard from or seen Leon Walker since his exit from the boat, while bosun Eddie Lucas remains in the “tugboats” industry. As for the woman who brought the real drama, Rocky Dakota, the Captain recalled her interesting choices when it comes to cooking.

“Let’s say [Rocky] hasn’t been over to the house to cook dinner. I’m not a huge fan of grenadine on my oysters.”

When it comes to concocting memorable (in a good way) meals, Chef Ben is the man to call. The charming, witty king of the kitchen regularly tempts his followers on social media with descriptions of creative cuisine.

Robinson has faced a challenge in going directly from Below Deck Mediterranean to the new season of Below Deck, and he confessed that it just might have made him a tad cranky.

However, the expert chef explained that he had experienced a “rollercoaster ride” on one show, and basically just hopped from one deck to the other without anytime for rest and recreation.

“It’s a lot,” summed up Ben. “I think I was just kind of on a rollercoaster ride when I showed up. If you do one season a year, you kind of gather yourself again.”

Instead, the chef was, in cooking terms, “just thrown straight into the fire again.” But the deliciously seasoned star promises that it’s not all negative, promising that viewers will enjoy good times as well as drama.

“I survived,” summed up Robinson. “It’s good. It was fun.”

As for the fireworks that exploded between Ben and Tiffany in the Below Deck Med season finale, that’s “all good” too, added the chef.

“Tiffany and I are fine. We’re good friends,” he revealed.

Sail with the Captain, Chef, and rest of the crew when Below Deck Season 4 debuts Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
