‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Season 2, Episode 10: Was Madison Bitten?

Episode 10 of AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead ended with an exciting reveal. But, was something else also revealed? Was someone actually bitten and hiding it?

Spoiler alert: This article discusses Episode 10 and Season 2 of AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead. Please proceed with caution if you wish to avoid spoilers.

For the course of Episode 10 of Fear the Walking Dead fans were wondering if Madison (Kim Dickens) and Strand (Colman Domingo) had escaped the bar filled with walkers that was the cliffhanger at the end of Episode 9. During Episode 10, Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) tirelessly attempted to return to the ground floor in order to see if her mother and Victor were safe. However, along the way, she had to battle her own horde of the infected as well as her encounter with the axe-wielding Elena Reyes (Karen Bethzabe).

Elena is a newly introduced character in Fear the Walking Dead who worked at the hotel Alicia’s group is now staying at. When the outbreak occurred, there was an incident at a wedding being held there. As a result of this, Elena and her nephew, Hector (Ramses Jimenez), locked the entire wedding party in the reception room in order to contain the spread of the infected, even though — at this stage — only two were infected. As i09 pointed out, it was Fear‘s version of the Red Wedding. Elena and Hector then lived in the hotel, moving the undead to rooms and locking them in and surviving on the plentiful supplies within the hotel.

The only problem with this scenario, though, was the fact some of the wedding guests actually survived being locked in the room with the infected. A grudge against Elena and Hector was immediately formed. Alicia, unfortunately, got stuck in the middle of this in Episode 10 of Fear the Walking Dead.

Regardless of all the drama unfolding around her, Alicia still managed to convince Elena to help her check on Madison and Strand. However, it wasn’t until the very end of Episode 10 of Fear the Walking Dead that Madison and Strand’s fate was revealed. While how they escaped wasn’t revealed, fans did discover they had managed to avoid the undead, finding safety in a room. This was lucky for Alicia and Elena as they were being followed by the infected and had nowhere to go except through the locked door of the room Madison and Strand had found safety in.

When Madison let Alicia and Elena in, Alicia immediately asked Madison, “Are you okay?” Madison replied that she was. However, there was a long pause as viewers got to see Madison’s face up close. Was she relieved her daughter was safe? Or was there something else to that look?

Perhaps, Madison has been bitten? While she told Alicia she was alright, was she lying to protect her daughter? Also, in the preview for Episode 11 of Fear the Walking Dead, Madison looks like she is sweating profusely in some scenes. This could be a sign of the fever associated with a bite from the infected. Alternatively, it could just be because there is no air conditioning in Mexico now the power grid is out.

Initially, there had been a moment in Episode 10 of Fear the Walking Dead where Alicia thought her mother had been bitten and turned. When she entered the bar, she saw one of the infected with blonde hair and wearing the same clothes her mother had been wearing earlier. However, when the infected victim turned around, Alicia immediately killed it, leading the audience to believe Madison was safe. Could this be the perfect set up to have fans think Madison is truly safe now? Only by turning into Episode 11 of Fear the Walking Dead will reveal all.

Alternatively, has Strand been bitten in Episode 10 of Fear the Walking Dead? Knowing something will eventually have to be done with Strand if he was bitten and now fully infected, could, potentially, create that look.
