‘Firewatch’ For Xbox One Consoles Arriving September 21 With Bonus Modes

Popular first-person adventure video game Firewatch is all set to arrive for the Microsoft Xbox One later this month, Engadget reports. The game, which was only released earlier this year has seen rave reviews from the gaming community worldwide. However, at the time of its initial release earlier this year, Firewatch was only available for the Sony Playstation 4 and Windows platforms. Xbox One users were left in the lurch, leaving several of them disappointed over the non-availability of the game for them. The people behind Firewatch, Campo Santo had confirmed that an Xbox One version was in the cards, and that all people needed to do was to wait for a few months.

Nearly eight months later, we now have confirmation regarding the date on which Firewatch will be officially released for the Xbox One. Xbox One users around the world should be able to play Firewatch on their consoles starting September 21, 2016. While we knew that the Xbox One edition was in the cards before the end of the year, Campo Santo had not revealed a release date.

A statement was released by Campo Santo in the form of a blog post.

“You’ve been inquiring and those inquiries were not falling on deaf ears. We’re thrilled to finally be sharing Firewatch with our friends in the Xbox community. “

Apart from the major release for the Xbox One, Campo Santo also said that it would release a Firewatch Audio Tour in the form of a free update for all its customers! The company also tweeted out the news to its customers.

Along with these updates, Campo Santo also released a brand new trailer for Firewatch and has promised several major updates to the game across all the platforms. We have embedded the trailer below.

“Along with the main game, we’re also shipping the Firewatch Audio Tour (a free update for all customers!) which we’ll talk a little bit more about tomorrow. The short version: one part scavenger hunt, one part museum tour, one part game dev workshop, mixed with a dash of inside Campo Santo goofs.”

Apart from all these updates, Campo Santo confirmed that they would also be adding a new, free roam option to Firewatch. This, according to the company, would let users explore the world in which the game is set. To make up for the delay, Xbox One users would be the first ones to get this free roam update. PS4 and PC users will need to wait a few weeks for the mode to arrive.

As most of you might be aware, Firewatch was first released on February 9, 2016 for the PS4 and Windows platforms. Within a few weeks of its arrival, it was clear that the game was loved by users across the globe. In fact, on the first day of its arrival itself, Campo Santo sold enough copies of the game for the company to break even. In the first month alone, more than 500,000 copies of the game were sold. Campo Santo reportedly made more than $10 million that month. Campo Santo was also taken aback by the kind of reception the game received resulting them in tweeting this message out.

Now that Firewatch is finally arriving for the Microsoft Xbox One, do you think it would be able to garner the same level of attention as it did when it arrived for the other versions?
