NBA Trade Rumors: DeMarcus Cousins And Chris Bosh To Wizards, Rudy Gay To Heat, Bradley Beal To Kings In Blockbuster Eight-Player Deal

NBA trade rumors come in all shapes and sizes, but one of the latest is a massive deal involving three teams and eight players. If this trade takes place, it will be one of the most significant NBA transactions in recent memory.

According to Yibada, the Heat, Wizards and Kings may be involved in discussions regarding a complex eight-player swap. In this trade scenario, the Miami Heat would acquire Rudy Gay, Kosta Koufos, and Markieff Morris. DeMarcus Cousins and Chris Bosh would head to the Washington Wizards, while the Sacramento Kings would receive Bradley Beal, Marcin Gortat, and Josh McRoberts.

The first thing to note about this NBA trade rumor is that it cannot happen right now. NBA rules dictate that Bradley Beal is not trade-eligible since he just signed a new contract with Washington on July 26. It is possible that the deal could go down during the season, but it would not be allowed at this time. The earliest date Beal could be traded by the Wizards is December 15.

It is interesting to examine why these prominent players are mentioned not only in this NBA trade rumor but many others as well. DeMarcus Cousins has been a favorite of this summer’s off-season rumor mill and there may very well be some validity to Sacramento’s alleged interest in unloading him. Cousins is one of the most talented players in the NBA, but he is also one of the most frustrating and disruptive.

DeMarcus Cousins had a reputation as a “loose cannon” coming out of the University of Kentucky and he has continued to carry that label in the NBA. Cousins has had numerous issues with teammates, coaches, and management while playing for the Kings. The team is said to be fed up with his antics, and considering that they have not been successful as a team with Cousins as their big gun, it might be time for a change in Sacramento.

Chris Bosh’s problems, on the other hand, are of a much different variety. Bosh has been a top performer for the Miami Heat since joining the team back in 2010 and he has contributed to a great deal of team prosperity, particularly during the days of the LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Bosh trio. In early 2015, Bosh was diagnosed with blood clots. He was unable to play for the remainder of the 2015-16 campaign, but he was expected to make a full recovery by training camp that fall.

Unfortunately, Bosh’s blood clots returned and the Miami Heat have been hesitant to put him back in the lineup since he is taking blood-thinning medication to treat the clots. The battle between Chris Bosh and the Heat is ongoing. Bosh wants to play, but Miami is concerned about their liability should Bosh sustain an injury or bleed uncontrollably from contact on the basketball floor. Many observers feel that the team may want to ship him out of South Beach, in order to let someone else deal with the risk and uncertainty related to Bosh and his health condition.

Rudy Gay and Bradley Beal are both popping up in NBA trade rumors due to perceived on-court issues. Rudy Gay hasn’t been a good fit with his teammates in Sacramento, which is apparently causing the team to consider moving him. Gay is a good, productive player, but the Kings have not been able to win with him as one of their primary scorers. Chat Sports has reported that league insiders expect Gay to be dealt sooner rather than later. The Kings and Rudy Gay both desire a trade and those in the know think it will happen at some point in the near future.

It has become common knowledge this summer that Bradley Beal and teammate John Wall do not get along well on the court at times. In a recent interview, Wall was very direct in stating that he and Beal have issues playing together and that their relationship on the basketball floor needs a lot of work. This admission has led to both Beal and Wall being mentioned in NBA trade rumors.

There is certainly validity to the trade involving several of the players mentioned in this NBA trade rumor. However, this particular proposal won’t happen now and probably won’t happen later in the season.

Even though this eight-player swap appears to simply be a creation of the rumor mill, look for at least one of the players mentioned here to change teams in the coming weeks.
