Novak Djokovic Receives Good News At U.S. Open 2016 Without Roger Federer, Wife Jelena Ristic Helps Him Have Fun On Twitter

Novak Djokovic is getting good news at the U.S. Open 2016. Not only has his biggest opponent Roger Federer not participating in the tournament, but he also has been getting easy passes with players dropping out of matches. With super-supportive wife Jelena Ristic by his side, it looks like Novak Djokovic will be able to clinch the title at the U.S. Open this year!

This season has been particularly hectic for tennis players all around the world because of the Olympic games in Rio. With an added competition in their schedules, many of the players are stretching themselves thin. Novak campaigned for a gold medal this year, but he dropped out in the earlier rounds, letting Andy Murray take the top prize at the end of the day.

Since then, the Serbian tennis player has been trying to get back into the swing of things. Seeing how he is a fairly new father, he has cultivated this positive outlook on life, showing his fans that he wants to concentrate on having fun with his wife, Jelena Ristic, and not on his career failures.

And since then, things have been going tremendously for him.

“Djokovic won Friday when his third-round opponent, Mikhail Youzhny, stopped because of injury after only six games,” reports ESPN. “This came two days after defending champion Djokovic’s second-round opponent, Jiri Vesely, withdrew a couple of hours before that match because of inflammation in his left forearm.”

“I don’t think I ever had this kind of situation in my career,” Novako said to the press. “But considering the stage of the season, the amount of matches I’ve played, what I’ve been through with my body, I think it’s actually good to have some days off and then shorter matches, from one side.”

This kind of good news and easy games are just what he needs to grasp that trophy at the U.S. Open 2016.

But the competition for the top prize is pretty stiff. While Roger Federer is out of the picture due to his injury, there are still plenty of men playing well. Andy Murray has been playing beautiful tennis, easing his way into the third round. Rafael Nadal, who experienced various hiccups over the months, is also getting back into this game. The young rising star Kei Nishikori is also into the third round as well, giving Novak plenty to think about.

Despite all this stressful news, his wife Jelena is doing a great job in keeping her champion nice and relaxed. Seeing how she has been dating him since high school days, she has gotten very good at keeping her husband in his best state of mind.

Even before the Wimbledon games, she kept his spirits and positivity high by taking him on a fun trip around London.

“Novak Djokovic is acclimatising to London with less than a week to go before the start of Wimbledon, posting pictures on social media of himself and wife Jelena on the London Underground,” reports the Telegraph UK. “The Serbian tennis star took to the District Line like a duck to water and both he and Jelena tweeted selfies with other passengers – though very few of the Londoners appear to have realised they were sharing their carriage with the men’s world No 1.”

He, in turn, has been very grateful of all the good vibes he has gotten from his wife. He often posts very public thank you messages about her on Twitter, showing his fans that he could not do anything without her.

“Thank you to my wonderful wife for inspiring me everyday…you made this the best year of my life,” he wrote November last year.
