Tom Cruise And Cameron Diaz Not Dating, Says Rep

Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz might be close, but they’re not an item. That’s according to a rep for Cruise, who assured E! News that the two actors were were just good pals.

Cruise and Diaz’s “relationship” was first reported in the tabloid Life & Style, but Cruise’s spokesperson issued a rebuttal that was as straightforward as rebuttals come:

“It’s false. They are friends.”

Both Cruise and Diaz are currently single. The 50-year-old Rock of Ages actor split up from wife Katie Holmes in late June after five years of marriage. Since then, various women have been linked with Cruise, including actress and cancer reasearcher Nazanin Boniadi and relatively unknown actress Yolanda Pecoraro.

The 40-year-old Diaz split from Yankees star slugger Alex Rodriguez last September, and is probably the most famous name to be attached to Cruise yet. The actress spoke highly about Cruise in an interview on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2010, telling Winfrey:

“He has a very high standard. So that’s a wonderful thing. That’s what you know you’re getting when you’re working with Tom. You know that you’re getting someone who is dedicated to bringing the best product forward possible, and to do that, you have to be engaged in the process.”

Cruise and Diaz have appeared in two films together: Cameron Crowe’s Vanilla Sky (2001) and James Mangold’s Knight and Day (2010).
