One Piece Manga Chapter 838: Will Luffy Subdue Charlotte Cracker Or Defeat Him Completely Before Sanji-Pudding Wedding? [Spoilers]

One Piece manga’s progress may appear to be stalled owing to the extended complications Luffy and the members of the Straw Hats are facing. However, with their emergence from the daunting Seducing Woods coming near, One Piece is poised for a lot of excitement ahead.

While Luffy and members of the Straw Hats are on the verge of emerging from the Seducing Woods, One Piece manga has multiple other events that are happening simultaneously. However, none is more important than the undoubtedly fierce and epic battle between Monkey D. Luffy and Charlotte Cracker.

[Warning: One Piece Chapter 837 and Chapter 838 spoilers ahead]

In the previous chapter, Charlotte Cracker was attacked by Luffy. It is not clear why Luffy chose to attack Cracker, who is the son of Charlotte Linlin, or as she is better known as, Big Mom. While the reasons for the preemptive strike haven’t been revealed, fans speculate Luffy is genuinely intimidated by Cracker and intends to overpower the latter before Cracker has a chance to build up his special power and use it against Luffy.

While One Piece manga author Eiichiro Oda hasn’t specifically mentioned what powers Cracker possesses, or the intensity with which he can strike, there are indications he can multiply his arms and swords at will. Each time Cracker taps the appendages, they multiply exponentially. It is strongly believed Cracker and the legendary “Thousand Arms” are one and the same.

How will Luffy defeat Cracker? Charlotte Cracker has been confirmed to be a big, powerful and intimidating adversary. Though he is rather bulky, Cracker is surprisingly agile and can move at great speeds when in attack mode. However, fans are confident Luffy will still overpower his adversary using a few of his attacks that he keeps reserved for strong opponents.

Though Luffy is quite lanky when compared to Cracker, the pirate possesses strength. Fans speculate Luffy will strike Cracker with Elephant Gun attack. However, the former will not only successfully block it, but will retaliate with a weapon called the Pretzel. Though taken aback, Luffy will strike with Hawk Gatling attack, which will be countered with Hard-Biscuit by Cracker.

While the attack, a powerful Busoshoku move, is enough to level any enemy, Luffy will eventually manage to subdue Cracker with the second form of his Fourth Gear Gatling gun called the Gomu Gomu Kong Gun. The final strike by Luffy will decimate Cracker’s defenses and leave him vulnerable to annihilation.

Surprisingly, many feel Luffy might not finish off Cracker. This is because Cracker carries a very handsome bounty of 860,000,000 Beli on his head. Defeating him will mean Luffy’s bounty will effectively double, placing him squarely above the high ranking pirates. These plunderers of the high seas are in the sights of the World Government, which considers them a big threat.

Annihilating Cracker would mean Luffy and his Straw Hats will be considered a top priority by the World Government. With Luffy considered a bigger threat than all other top-level pirates, the threat to his life and the lives of all members of Straw Hats will jump substantially.

Apart from defeating Cracker and escaping the Seducing Woods, Luffy is highly concerned about reaching Whole Cake Island, and meeting his friend Sanji, who could wed Big Mom’s daughter Pudding. Fortunately, previous chapters have offered several clues that indicate multiple factors are in favor of the Straw Hats leader.

It appears Luffy’s escape from Seducing Woods is all but assured. However, will Luffy reach the venue of Sanji and Pudding’s wedding in time to halt the nuptials, and ensure Sanji’s life-force isn’t devoured by Big Mom?
