Did Chris Brown Just Respond To Rihanna And Drake’s VMA PDA? He Takes Aim At ‘Fake’ Rappers

Is Chris Brown upset about Rihanna and Drake’s PDA at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards?

According to a new report, Chris Brown may have just dissed Drake, whom he’s feuded with in the past, on Instagram after watching the “Hotline Bling” rapper get cozy onstage with his former girlfriend.

“Supported my favorite rapper last night in NEW ORLEANS BIG BRO FOR LIFE @liltunechi if it wasn’t for him a lot of these fake a** rappers wouldn’t get an opportunity. Real friends don’t depend on record sales or cosigns. Day 1 family,” Chris Brown captioned the now-deleted post.

As Hollywood Life pointed out on August 29, it seemed as if Chris Brown was throwing shade with his post, especially considering Drake had just professed his love for Rihanna moments prior and given her a kiss onstage with millions watching.

“Drizzy could easily be the not-so-coincidental target. Plus, [Chris Brown] has seemingly taken his alleged Insta post down already, as if he didn’t want to actually start any drama with Drake,” the outlet noted.

If Chris Brown was dissing his fellow rapper, it is possible that he was set off by Drake’s statement that he has been in love with Rihanna since he was 22-years-old. As Hollywood Life stated, Chris Brown was dating the “Work” songstress during that period of time.

Chris Brown and Rihanna have been linked to one another on and off for years, despite their romance having come to an abrupt end in 2009 after he brutally assaulted her after a Grammy Awards pre-show in Los Angeles.

According to a report by Gawker, Chris Brown and Rihanna began hanging out with one another in 2006 after being introduced at the 2005 Vibe Awards. Then, just a couple of years after their romance was said to have begun, Chris Brown got into an argument with Rihanna over text messages allegedly sent to him by his manager, Tina Davis, and ultimately, their war of words turned physical.

After their fight, Chris Brown and Rihanna reunited in late February 2009, but by March 2009, they had parted ways once again, and around that time, nude photos of Rihanna were mysteriously shared online.

Throughout 2011 and 2012, Chris Brown and Rihanna were involved in occasional Twitter conversations, as well as a feud which led Rihanna to block her ex-boyfriend from following her.

Earlier this summer, following a tragic terror attack in Nice, France, Chris Brown reportedly reached out to his former girlfriend, who was traveling at the time, to make sure she was okay.

“[Chris Brown] and Ri haven’t been talking as often because they’re both on the road touring but the minute he heard about what was going on in Nice he started dialing and texting,” an insider told Hollywood Life in July. “He hit her up the minute he heard the awful news but he couldn’t get her and he was frantic. He thought the worst had happened. He lit up his first cigarette in days because he was nervous. About an hour or so later, Ri called him and told him she was good and he was so relieved.”

“[Chris Brown] told her he wouldn’t know what to do if he lost her,” the source continued. “She was grateful he called and shortly after Chris walked away from his boys to talk to her privately. Whatever they were talking about sounded good to Chris’ ears because the boy was smiling like he’d just hit the jackpot.”
