Charlie Sheen, Broke And Humbled, Receives Mercy From His Ex-Wives

It seems that Charlie Sheen’s party boy antics have caught up with him, again. The Anger Management star is strapped for cash these days, so much so that he had been considering some court filings to reduce his child support payments. In the past, Charlie has spoken about the consequences that he has been paying for neglecting to wear a condom just a few times. Now it seems he wasn’t just talking about contracting HIV. Upon getting wind of Sheen’s change in fortunes, both of his ex-wives, Denise Richards and Brooke Mueller, agreed to accept lesser monthly payments, but their mercy wasn’t out of concern for themselves.

Charlie Sheen Gets A Reprieve, As His Exes Agree To A Cut In Monthly Payments

Feeling an economic pinch, Charlie started making noise about how much he was shelling out on child support payments, and as New York Daily News reports, both Mueller and Richards agreed to reduce payments rather than go to court. The women agreed to cut the $55,000 he regularly pays to each of them every month down to $25,000 per ex-wife. While this seems generous, neither Brooke, nor Denise were acting out of the goodness of their hearts. Sheen’s ex-wives feared that a court case would result in child support being reduced down to $10,000 a month, or even less.

Charlie’s income has greatly diminished from his Two and a Half Men days with Sheen reportedly taking home $87,000 a month at last count. He may be earning even less, as that figure was released in March.

Additionally, Sheen also agreed to some real estate transactions with Richards and Mueller, according to the New York Daily News reports. Sheen will also appear with Richards on an unspecified television show.

Sheen was married to Ms. Richards from 2002 through 2006 and the former couple share two daughters. Mueller and Sheen share 7-year-old twin sons from their marriage, which lasted from 2008 to 2011.

Charlie Sheen Calls On Fellow HIV Positive Celebrities To Help End Stigma

While Charlie may be broke, he still has been making time to help promote a good cause by speaking out about HIV, reports Breitbart. The Anger Management star is endeavoring to end the stigma that surrounds the disease, but he feels that he’s not making a big enough impact by himself. Sheen now hopes he can convince other celebrities to come out and reveal their HIV positive status.

“There is a lot of prejudice against HIV-positive people and I hope to change that,” Sheen said. “It would be good if more celebrities announced that they are infected with HIV. That would help things.”

Charlie says he’s often stopped in public by fans wishing to thank him for his courage in speaking publicly about his experiences in contracting HIV, and he says he rarely shies away from such conversations, because it is important to keep an open dialogue about sexually transmitted diseases.

Mr. Sheen is known for a sordid past that includes partying with drugs and alcohol, spending time with prostitutes, and a string of arrests for domestic violence and drug abuse. These days, however, Sheen has cleaned himself up and has changed his lifestyle. Charlie’s living clean and healthy.

“I want to stay healthy and do good. I want to make peace with the past, live in the present and look toward the future,” says Sheen.

Having learned his lesson, albeit a little too late, Sheen now lends his voice in support of safe sex, via LELO. Charlie’s ad campaign for the intimate lifestyle products company promotes a new line of condoms.

Professionally, Charlie Sheen just wrapped filming on Nine Eleven, a drama focused on a group of people trapped in an elevator in the World Trade Center’s North Tower on September 11, 2001.
