Britney Spears ‘VMAs’ 2016 Performance Meltdown: ‘Glory’ First-Week Prediction Sales Revealed

Britney Spears is freaking out about her Video Music Awards performance, it has been alleged. The singer, who will be hitting the stage to perform at the VMAs for the first time in nine years, is extremely worried that things are going to go wrong and she’ll ultimately embarrass herself.

Britney considers this performance to be very important in her career, because, as many will remember, the last time she graced the stage at the VMAs in 2007, Spears was scrutinized for what many considered the worst performance of her life, as she promoted her hit single, “Gimme More.”

Endless reports at the time claimed that Spears wouldn’t show up for rehearsals, resulting in quite the embarrassing turnout for the mother-of-two, who has reportedly been working hard to show the world what a difference nine years can make.

Britney Spears is “getting one more chance to prove herself as the world’s reigning pop princess at Sunday night’s MTV VMAs,” but she’s preparing “to redeem herself after her 2007 disaster,” Radar Online reveals.

“Britney has been stressed out so much over her album dropping at the same time as she is rehearsing for her biggest dance routine yet! She knows that she has to kill it at the VMAs this weekend and she is doing a medley that will include some of her new music.”

The 34-year-old’s performance at the VMAs comes just days after the singer dropped her latest studio album, Glory, which is said to be making her even more nervous about her performance. There’s so much pressure on Britney, who is under the clear impression that if she doesn’t redeem herself tonight, it’s going to leave her feeling absolutely devastated.

“On top of that, her father, Jamie, is all over her case and he is stressing her out,” the news outlet adds. “Britney is also really scared that Glory will not wow her diehard fans.”

Concerning her new album, That Grape Juice reveals how early predictions will see the record sell between 105-115k in its first week, including streaming numbers from the likes of Spotify and YouTube. It’ll be in the same sales range as her previous album, Britney Jean, which brought in 107k in first-week sales back in 2013.

Producers for the VMAs have been teasing performance for the artists that are hitting the stage tonight, with many of them having assured fans that Britney Spears’ performance will be “something she’s never done before.”

All that has been confirmed so far is that Britney will definitely be doing a medley of her hit songs, and will most likely conclude the performance with a couple of tracks from her new album.

News of Britney’s supposed brief meltdown moment before the VMAs comes just weeks after reports revealed how the pop star plans on returning to Las Vegas for another two years. The “Toxic” hitmaker is planning on extending her contract with Planet Hollywood, evidently meaning that she’ll not be going on a world tour to support Glory.

Let us know what you make of Britney Spears’ fears about her performance at the Video Music Awards? Do you think she should be worried about potentially letting her fans down considering all the positive improvements she’s made throughout the years?
