‘Game Of Thrones’: Will Daenerys Be Captured In King’s Landing Or Reunite With Drogo In Season 7? [Spoilers]

While the potential spoilers for Game of Thrones keep coming, the one thing fans are certain of is that the epic fantasy only has two more short seasons to go for Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) or Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) to try to get their hands on that Iron Throne and dispatch the evil Queen Cersei (Lena Headey) for good. At the end of Season 6, Dany had set sail with her army and was headed to King’s Landing. New Game of Thrones spoilers indicate that not only will she arrive, but she may be facing some pretty heavy complications in her plan once she gets there.

Potential spoilers of fairly large proportions follow if you’re a Game of Thrones fan.

Before getting into the potential dilemma brewing for Daenerys, many fans have been buzzing about a possible return of Khal Drogo after Jason Momoa was spotted in Belfast having a few drinks with the showrunners for Game of Thrones. First of all, Momoa’s love of Guinness beer is legendary, and in fact, he was in Belfast getting his very own brand of Guinness beer dedicated to him. Having a couple of drinks with the showrunners, who were also in Belfast to prep for filming of Game of Thrones, does not equal Khal Drogo coming back from the dead.

Come on, Game of Thrones fans — remember that funeral pyre that left no body to resurrect? Even Momoa pointed that fact out in his latest Instagram post.

But a new potential Game of Thrones spoiler has come to light involving the fate of Daenerys when she gets to King’s Landing. It looks like a key piece of architecture from the books will come into play, but is it a good or bad thing for Dany? Watchers on the Wall, which has a lengthy track record of fairly accurate spoilers, believes one of the new sites in Spain being prepped for filming will be the Dragonpit in King’s Landing.

Winter is Coming notes that the Dragonpit is one of the three main structures in King’s Landing, along with the Red Keep and the Sept of Baelor. Of course, the Sept of Baelor is now little more than a pile of rubble and body parts thanks to the new queen, but the Dragonpit is also a structure in ruins. It used to hold the Targaryen dragons in days long past, but what purpose will it serve in the present?

This could go either of two ways: either Daenerys uses it as a stronghold to launch her attack, or she and her dragons are somehow captured and held hostage there. Either way, if this Game of Thrones spoiler is right, it would confirm that Daenerys Targaryen reaches King’s Landing in Season 7. This would set up the great showdown between Dany and Queen Cersei that was part of the prophecy of a witch Cersei visited as a young girl. It said she would be replaced by a younger, more beautiful queen (anyone having flashbacks to Snow White?) and with poor Margaery (Natalie Dormer) out of the way, it seems pretty clear that replacement is meant to be Daenerys.

So what do you think, Game of Thrones fans? Will the Dragon pit be a stronghold or a prison for Dany and her dragons? It seems like her army in her dragons could easily overpower the forces at King’s Landing, but there are bound to be complications to keep GoT fans on the edge of their seats. You’ll have to wait a while to find out, as Game of Thrones is just prepping for filming of the new season.
