‘RHOBH’ Alum Carlton Gebbia Splits From Her Husband…A Year Ago

Carlton Gebbia is clearly no longer a Real Housewife; otherwise, her personal business would have been all over the tabloids when it first went down a year ago. According to Entertainment Tonight, Carlton and her husband, businessman David Gebbia, have been separated for the past year.

While Gebbia and her husband of 18 years have separated, they continue to live in the same house together to jointly raise their three children under one roof. A source told ET that Carlton and her husband, who are parents to Destiny, Mysteri, and Cross, want to remain united on the parenting front despite their rocky marriage.

“She wants her children to have a solid foundation and not be living in two homes. They’ve been married 18 years. There’s no reason they can’t raise their children together.”

News of Carlton Gebbia’s surprising year-long split comes just days after TMZ posted a video of her being carted off in an ambulance after a night of out at popular club Bootsy Bellows. Carlton was found unresponsive outside the Hollywood hotspot and was rushed to the hospital. Gebbia’s medical emergency was later attributed to an allergic reaction.

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans recall Carlton Gebbia’s one-season stint on the Bravo reality show back in Season 4. Carlton famously butted heads with RHOBH veteran Kyle Richards over her Wiccan religion.

Gebbia was vocal about the fact that she didn’t like how producers portrayed her on the show. Indeed, Carlton Gebbia’s Wiccan lifestyle didn’t connect with viewers, and she was portrayed as a spell-casting “wicked witch,” so the mom of three was not exactly devastated when she wasn’t asked to return to the hit Bravo reality show.

Still, Bravo host Andy Cohen later publicly apologized to Gebbia, reiterating to fans that she is a devoted mom, wife, and businesswoman and not a sex-crazed witch. In an interview on his after-show, Watch What Happens Live, Cohen admitted he didn’t give Carlton a fair shake on RHOBH.

“We portrayed her as a bad witch, but also she’s a PTA mom — we portrayed her, all the sex stuff and the Wicca stuff, and that was kind of it. I know that there was more to her and I felt that she got an unfair shake.”

While she mulled over the idea of returning for a cameo here and there, Carlton Gebbia later told E! News that she was happy to be done with RHOBH and all of its drama because she already had enough on her plate.

“I sort of look at it as a blessing in disguise because my husband does have a project in the works, a reality show,” Carlton said at the time.

“I was contractually obligated for a three-year deal and if that’s the case, I’m not anymore. I would like to go into a show and not have to watch the knives coming at my back. That would be great!”

Carlton Gebbia and fellow RHOBH short timer Joyce Giraud were let go after one season on the hit reality show, and there was no love lost when it came to Kyle Richards. After Carlton was canned, Richards told Us Weekly that they were never friends—not even fake Beverly Hills buddies.

“We were never friends so there is no love lost there,” Kyle said.” I’m not going to miss her … I didn’t know her before [the show] and I haven’t seen her since.”

While Carlton Gebbia is now separated from her husband, it sounds as though they are trying to remain amicable for the sake of their kids. According to her Bravo profile, Carlton previously described her husband as “truly [my] soul-mate.”
