Best Horror Movies On Hulu That Will Give You Chills


Hulu offers a flurry of horror movies and with the vast subcategories it’s easy for subscribers to overlook quality titles. Some of the movies on this list are classics that newer generations may have skipped, while others are modern titles that often fall through the cracks.

The Den(2014)

This independent horror movie is about a young woman who receives a grant for her thesis: studying human behavior in a popular webcam chat-room called The Den. During one of her visits to the chat-site, she witnesses a brutal murder and soon the killer targets her and her friends. This movie does a great job of utilizing modern technology in the found-footage genre of horror; every shot of this film is from the viewpoint of a webcam. Hulu subscribers will get sucked into this tale that feels very real.

Hellraiser(1987)

Written and directed by horror movie icon Clive Barker (Lord of Illusions, Candyman), Hellraiser stands the test of time and offers graphic visuals and a chilling story that is sure to please horror enthusiasts and Hulu viewers.

Hellbound: Hellraiser II(1988)

This horrifying sequel was not as popular as the original among critics, the absence of Clive Barker certainly affected the film, but it is still loved by fans of horror movies. Pinhead and the Cenobites return to unleash more havoc in hell.

Children of the Corn(1984)

Based on the short story by Stephen King, Children of the Corn is considered a classic in horror movies. IMDB provides the synopsis for this film that’s one of the best horror movies on Hulu.

The older this movie becomes the creepier it gets, and Isaac is sure to give Hulu subscribers chills.

The House of the Devil(2009)

If viewers are looking for nothing but gore and blood—this movie is not for them. The House of the Devil offers Hulu audiences a slow-burn tale in the likes of horror movies of yesteryear. This story of the macabre takes place in 1983 and is based on true events; a babysitter takes a job at a remote Victorian mansion and she soon realizes that she is prey to a sinister plan on the night of a full lunar eclipse.

The Collector(2009)

Though it did not do well with critics upon its initial release, Hulu audiences have given The Collector high ratings. A burglar targets his employer’s home and unfortunately, so does a serial killer; he has rigged the house with deadly traps and the two enter a game of cat-and-mouse.

Them(2007)

This international horror-suspense film is based on a true story and is a quick 76 minutes of sheer terror. The official movie page gives the synopsis of one of the scariest horror movies on Hulu.

The Jeffrey Dahmer Files(2013)

The Jeffrey Dahmer Files is not a fictitious movie, but rather a chilling documentary about the infamous serial killer. Enthusiasts of horror movies will enjoy this documentary because nothing is more terrifying than real life. This recounting of Dahmer’s vicious crimes is told from the perspective of his arresting officer and his neighbors.

The twisted killer tormented, raped, and murdered 17 boys and men between 1978 and 1991. Torture, rape, cannibalism, and necrophilia were all part of his sick methods. This documentary movie provides insight and eyewitness accounts.
