‘Dancing With The Stars’ Casting News — Amber Rose May Be The Show’s Biggest Diva Ever
Season 23 of Dancing with the Stars is only weeks away, and one newcomer is already stirring up some serious drama. Radar Online is reporting that Amber Rose will take part in the dancing competition and is already making demands. Will Rose be the show’s biggest diva ever?
Producers have not confirmed Rose’s involvement on DWTS, though an insider told the outlet that it will happen. Rose reportedly wanted to pick her own dancing partner and demanded a salary that was a lot higher than the show normally dishes out.
“Amber Rose approached producers to let them know that she was interested months ago,” the source revealed. “But producers were hesitant because Amber wanted to be able to call the shots.”
The former stripper has been very busy in Hollywood over the past couple of months. While Rose is no longer speaking out about her ex-boyfriend, Kanye West, and his reality star wife, Kim Kardashian, her talk show, The Amber Rose Show, is starting to gain success.
Considering all the time Rose puts into her show, DWTS producers were doubtful about her commitment to the dancing competition.
“Producers working on next season initially told Amber that they felt like she did not have the time to do this, given her busy schedule,” the insider continued. “But Amber assured them that she will make the time.”
According to Us Magazine, there will be 13 pro dancers hitting the floor in Season 23. This includes Witney Carson, Val Chmerkovskiy, Artem Chigvintsev, Sharna Burgess, Gleb Savchenko, Lindsay Arnold, Sasha Farber, and Allison Holker. The other five professionals have not been revealed. However, ET Online is reporting that Maksim Chmerkovskiy will return this season.
Is Maksim really coming out of retirement for Season 23 of Dancing With the Stars? Maksim, who is about to have his first kid with fellow DWTS pro Peta Murgatroyd, has not been on DWTS since Season 18. After winning the Mirrorball Trophy with Meryl Davis, Maksim announced his retirement from the show.
“I don’t think so,” he said when asked about returning for another season. “This is exhausting. It has nothing to do with money. The first thing that I did after hugging her [Meryl]… was come up to Derek [Hough] and I was like, ‘Dud, I don’t know how you do it.’ He did it five times. I have no idea.”
Nyle DiMarco won the coveted Mirrorball Trophy in Season 22, beating out UFC star Paige VanZant.
The entire list of the participants in Season 23 will be revealed on August 30 on Good Morning America. Considering Rose’s involvement and the possibility of Maksim’s highly anticipated return, Season 23 of DWTS might be the most drama-filled season to date.
Apart from her talk show, Heavy is reporting that Rose has a very large social media following, should help her earn fan support during the competition. She is also known for dating Kanye West and is the mother of Wiz Khalifa’s child, who is now 3-years-old.
Apart from Rose, other rumored contestants include the likes of Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice, Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte, Bachelorette star JoJo Fletcher, musician Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Fosters star Jake T. Austin, Little Women: LA star Terra Jole, Indy car pro James Hinchcliffe, actress Emma Samms, and gymnast Simone Biles.
Of course, fans won’t know which of these stars will actually take part in the new season until Good Morning America reveals the casting list next Tuesday. Season 23 of Dancing with the Stars is set to premiere September 12 on ABC.
