‘Real Housewives’ Star Ending 18-Year Long Marriage: Secretly Separated For Over A Year

Another Real Housewives of Beverly Hills bites the dust. This week, the news surfaced that another marriage from the Real Housewives franchise was over. However, this time, the divorce won’t be playing out on television, as the housewife in question hasn’t been on the show for quite some time. As it turns out, the happy marriage that Carlton Gebbia portrayed on the show isn’t so happy anymore. Apparently, she has decided to separate from her husband, David Gebbia, but these two are doing things their own way.

According to a new Bravo report, this former Real Housewives of Beverly Hillsstar is divorcing the way she wants to. Instead of packing her bags and moving out, Carlton is staying in the same house as her estranged husband. And she’s doing this for the kids. Bravo reveals that her rep issued a statement saying that she and David are indeed “separated but living together under the same roof for the wellness of their children.”

As fans may remember, the couple has three children, Destiny, Mysteri, and Cross, and they were briefly featured on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The news of this divorce was first reported by Entertainment Tonight, which claimed that the couple had actually separated over a year ago and were living together under the same roof to keep the family together. And apparently, this is true.

“She wants her children to have a solid foundation and not be living in two homes,” an insider has revealed to Entertainment Tonight, adding, “They’ve been married for 18 years. There’s no reason they can’t raise their children together.”

The news of their split comes just days after Carlton was rushed to the hospital after being out at a club. While she was feeling fine at the club, she supposedly had a bad reaction to some medication she was taking. No word on what medication she was taking.

“She was feeling fine and at a photo shoot yesterday following an allergic reaction to some medication which led to a brief hospitalization Saturday night as a precaution,” the former Real Housewives star’s rep told Bravo about the situation.

But Gebbia is far from the first star from the Real Housewives franchise to get divorced. While there are some divorces in Beverly Hills, it seems like there are plenty of other divorces in the franchise. One of the newer divorces is between Michael Wainstein and his wife Jules Wainstein, according to NY Mag. While Jules worked very hard to save her marriage and work on their relationship, he was not interested in his wife. Shortly after filming wrapped on this season of The Real Housewives of New York, Michael was spotted with his mistress around New York.

And there are several other divorces in New York. Ramona Singer and her ex-husband Mario also separated due to cheating. Mario supposedly felt threatened by Ramona’s success with The Real Housewives of New York and he cheated with a much younger woman. Luann and her ex-husband, the Count, also divorced during his cheating ways. More famously, Bethenny Frankel and her ex-husband Jason Hoppy divorced due to disagreements, but she never opened up about why things didn’t work out. They were in the divorce proceedings for years.

Down south, things don’t look much better for the Real Housewives of Orange County stars. Vicki Gunvalson divorced Donn after she didn’t feel like he was giving her what she needed. Tamra Judge and her ex-husband, Simon Barney, divorced after some nasty fights. Yolanda Hadid and David Foster from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills had a much calmer divorce and it sounds like Cynthia Bailey and Peter Thomas from The Real Housewives of Atlanta will follow suit.
