Lily James Gets Nearly Naked For My Burberry Black Fragrance Ad

Lily James is revealing all in her new fragrance ad for My Burberry Black fragrance. The actress stripped down to nearly nothing to promote the British company’s new fragrance.

The Cinderella star proves that she doesn’t need to wear a traditional plaid Burberry trench coat. All she needed was to wear black lacy underwear and wavy locks for her first-ever ad campaign, according to the New York Daily News. James, 27, revealed that posing for the ad campaign was as easy as taking her clothes off. She said she wanted to evoke a sexy and seductive woman for the photo shoot.

“Each My Burberry perfume has a different personality and obviously My Burberry Black focuses on a more sensual, seductive side. There was a certain persona that I was embracing – the world of My Burberry Black is a world of sensuality and the woman who wears it is very confident in her own skin. She’s sexy and quite seductive and that was what I was embracing. I think we really captured this with the campaign.”

Lily James also took to her Instagram page to post a clip from her commercial for My Burberry Black, which may be too hot for TV. It shows the Downton Abbey star slowly strips out of her black trench coat to nearly nothing but her knickers.

My Burberry Black has scents of amber patchouli, candied rose, and jasmine. James said she felt comfortable posing nearly nude for the ad campaign.

“It didn’t feel like I was having to act, it just felt like different parts of myself that were kind of pushed forward. I don’t think I would have ever worked with a brand that didn’t encourage that idea of being yourself at the core, and I think that Burberry is all about being yourself and genuine.”

Lily James is typically known for her roles on Cinderella, Downton Abbey, Pride, Prejudice and Zombies, and War and Peace, but she revealed to the Telegraph that she wanted to get rid of any preconceived notions that people had about her.

“It was quite liberating to break away from the stereotypes that people may have for me, and say, ‘well this is who I am.’ The things that Burberry do really are ingrained in their brand, you saw it with Kate [Moss] and Cara [Delevingne], there’s a family feel to what they do.”

In an interview with the Winsford Guardian, James revealed that she wears a different perfume for each one of her characters as a form of method acting. Each fragrance makes her feel like a different woman. For example, James would wear My Burberry Eau De Toilette when she played the role of Juliet in London’s Garrick Theatre’s production of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

The English star may have to add model to her resume — just don’t expect her to become style savvy. James revealed that she has yet to grasp the concept of matching the colors in her clothing with her accessories. She often relies on her stylist Rebecca Corbin-Murray for fashion tips, as noted by Sunday World.

“I’d describe my style as effortless and in-flux. I’m still discovering what I like,” she told the Sun. “I think I have got better but I really struggle with simple color coordination. I send a little WhatsApp messages asking; ‘Is this a disaster?'”

James revealed that she used to shop in high-end boutiques but now wears clothes from designer brands, which has opened her to a whole new world of fashion.

“Suddenly I have all these designers who want to work with me and it’s opened up a whole new world of fashion. It’s mind blowing. You see these dresses and they’re just… I’d never seen fashion like that. I always just got clothes from the high street.”

When it comes to beauty, she says that her beauty routine is easy because she uses minimal products in her daily regimen, although she loves to use the Burberry Face Contour Pen, which gives her “magic” cheekbones. Other things that James can’t live without include Burt’s Bee lip balm and Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. James has proven that she needs very little as she’s a natural beauty.
