Are Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston ready to make their red carpet debut?
According to a new report, Hiddleston is being pressured to bring Swift as his date to the 2016 Emmy Awards in Los Angeles after being nominated for his role in AMC’s The Night Manager.
On August 22, Gossip Cop revealed details from a Celeb Dirty Laundry report, which cited claims previously made by The Sun. According to the outlet, organizers behind the upcoming awards show reportedly wanted Swift present during the September event “because they know if they walk the red carpet together it will make it the most talked-about show of the year.”

The outlet continued, claiming that instead of focusing on the nominees and their series, executives behind the Emmy Awards were “looking for just one show — Taylor and Tom.” Then, Celebrity Dirty Laundry came up with a theory that claimed the Emmy Awards “pressured [Hiddleston] to continue his very public romance” by having Swift join him on the red carpet.
In response to the reports of both the Sun and Celebrity Dirty Laundry, Gossip Cop set the record straight, confirming that executives behind the awards show aren’t more focused on Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston than the actual show, nor is Hiddleston being pressured to bring Swift to the event.
While the outlet noted that Taylor Swift has been invited to the upcoming event, and could very well attend, Gossip Cop assured readers that executives are not forcing Swift to accompany Hiddleston on the red carpet.
Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston began dating in mid-June — just weeks after Swift and her former boyfriend, DJ Calvin Harris, called it quits. While Swift was newly single, the singer didn’t hesitate to flaunt her romance and for weeks, she and Hiddleston were seen holding hands and enjoying one another’s company from the U.K. to Italy to Australia.

After spending tons of time together around the world, Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston were forced to part ways as Hiddleston traveled to Australia to complete filming on Thor 3 and Swift visited New York City for a friend’s birthday.
“Taylor is already missing Tom bad. She got so used to being with him all the time, it’s a big shock to her system now that he’s gone,” a source explained to Hollywood Life earlier this month. “They aren’t supposed to meet up again until the end of the month, but she doesn’t think she can make it that long. She’s talking about jumping on a plane to Australia to go be with him next week.”
After visiting Australia, Taylor Swift returned home to Los Angeles where she was later joined by Hiddleston for a dinner date in Santa Monica. Days later, they were forced to part ways yet again. Still, according to another source, Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston have been making their relationship work, despite the distance between them.
“[Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston] are completely fine. They are enjoying the break from each other but are always talking and send each other messages throughout the day,” a second source told Hollywood Life. “Plus with them being apart the absence is definitely making the heart grow fonder. They really are seeing that their relationship is strong because they are thinking of each other a lot while they are away from each other. Everything is really cool with them right now.”
