Mia Love Gets A Letter Filled With Hate

Saratoga Springs, UT – Mia Love received disturbing hate mail filled with racist photos and images of aborted fetuses. The rising-star of the Republican Party remains steadfast in her goal to become the first black GOP congresswoman in United States history. She burst onto the national scene last month during the Republican National Convention.

The candidate’s new-found fame also made her a target by those who oppose both her views and her skin color. Police officers have launched an investigation into a packet which was sent to the Mayor of Saratoga Springs, according to the Deseret News.

Mia Love had this to say about the envelope filled with troubling items:

“I want you to know, I want everyone to know I am comfortable in my skin. I’m comfortable and proud of my heritage. I’m proud of who I am. I know where I’m going and I know what we need to do to get this country back in order again. There isn’t anything that anyone can send me that will distract me from that, so they can bring it on.”

The packet the Utah GOP candidate received also contained a photo of her out with her husband Jason and a picture of a hooded Ku Klux Klan member, The Blaze reports. Love referred to herself as a “tough cookie” after the incident and noted she will do anything to protect both herself and her family from the perceived threats. The Republican congressional candidate also noted she firmly believes the local police can handle the matter. She firmly stated she will not be distracted from tackling the issues which matter to residents who will soon be casting ballots in the historic race.
