Miami, FL – Miami Northwestern Senior High School band members were edited into a rather erotic music video about prostitutes and strippers with Lil’ Wayne and 2 Chainz. The marching band is rather well known in the area, so, when school administrators were asked if the musicians could play in a drum-line style video, they gave their consent, the Miami Herald reports.
Education officials should use this embarrassing experience as a life lesson. Hindsight is always 20/20, but perhaps they should have reviewed the song lyrics or at least asked who else would be on stage while the students proudly displayed their school colors.
At least six marching band members appeared in the “Bandz a Make Her Dance” video about prostitutes and strippers. The students were not filmed blowing their horns in the same location as money was tossed at scantily clad dancers spinning around stripping poles. The student’s identities were fairly obscured by their band hats and camera angles, but the well-known school uniforms were noticed by a plethora of upset parents, according to The Blaze.
Northwestern Principal Wallace Aristide had this to say about the naughty music video debacle:
“It’s just outrageous to think you have an individual take advantage of a school and students for a video. They’re playing their instruments and thinking it’s something innocent, wearing our uniforms. Only later to find out they edited the video with racy content. Everyone has a heartache, the kids, and the teachers, and the Northwestern community.”
An attorney is reviewing the video for possible unauthorized use of the school’s logo. The Florida educational facility may face an uphill battle if they attempt to get the Lil ‘Wayne and 2 Chainz “Bandz a Make Her Dance” video pulled. If students tried to get mercy when sent to the principal’s office by claiming they didn’t ask enough questions to realize what they were getting into, it would probably not sway a disciplinarian’s mind when it was time to hand out punishment. The school may just have to live with the inappropriate video and approach future requests for the band to perform with a whole lot more caution and thoroughness.
Warning: Adult language and content in the video.
