Selena Gomez’s Latest Drama: Why Is She Feuding With Charlie Puth?
Just days after Selena Gomez got into some serious drama with ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber on Instagram, it looks like there’s yet another male popstar she’s feuding with.
Gomez’s fans have been taking to social media to speculate about the current status of Selena’s relationship with singer Charlie Puth, with many suggesting that the two, who once claimed to be close friends, are now locked in a nasty feud.
Selena’s fans were quick to point out that Charlie sensationally unfollowed Gomez on Twitter, to which Gomez allegedly reciprocated by clicking the unfollow button back.
Charlie’s Twitter unfollow came shortly after Capital FM confirmed that Puth also unfollowed Selena on Instagram, which got fans of the duo ready for answers as the feud rumors began to swirl.

Selena’s followers clearly weren’t happy about Puth’s Gomez social media purge that took place shortly after Gomez and ex-boyfriend Bieber exchanged some pretty scathing words on Instagram, causing many Selena fans to take to Twitter to express their sadness over what appears to be a friendship turned sour.
“Still can’t believe that Charlie just deleted the audio of ‘We Don’t Talk Anymore’ and unfollowed Selena… seriously,” @writtenbygomez tweeted out, pointing out that Puth also opted to delete the official audio video of the twosome’s duet “We Don’t Talk Anymore” on Vevo.
The latest drama and feud reports come just days after Selena’s fans trended the hashtag #CharliePuthIsOverParty after the “See You Again” singer allegedly told a fan to “die” on Twitter shortly after his initial Gomez unfollow.
It’s not clear exactly why Puth fired out the pretty scathing message, though Perez Hilton reported that the tweet could have had something to do with Selena’s recent Instagram feud with Justin after fans alluded to the drama on the 140-character site.
“Charlie Puth shaded Justin, unfollowed Selena and told a fan to die all that in one day. He basically ended himself. #CharliePuthIsOverParty,” Twitter user @RelatedBieber tweeted out alongside the hashtag.
Selena Gomez’s fans first accused Charlie Puth of a feud with Gomez after he suggested that that the two no longer speak when a follower quizzed the singer on why the star isn’t featured in the official music video for “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” despite providing vocals for the song.
After a fan enquired about Selena’s absence from the video, Puth tweeted back on August 2, “because we don’t talk anymore.”
While it looked like Charlie’s response was a direct response to the song, it now appears that Puth’s pretty coy response could be a little more telling as the feud rumors swirl.
Selena and Charlie are yet to officially comment on reports suggesting that their friendship has turned into a feud, though the string of unfollows will likely come as a surprise to fans of the twosome who have long gushed over each other and their friendship.
Gomez and the “Marvin Gaye” singer have long been spotted hanging out all over social media and even sparked relationship rumors earlier this year.
Us Weekly claimed back in March that the two were actually more than friends and were supposedly dating and “hooking up.” The two denied the dating reports, though Charlie did previously tell the magazine that Gomez “just gets” him.
“I don’t know if anyone really understands me,” Charlie admitted to the site magazine back in November 2015, “which is why I hang out with Selena Gomez. She gets me.”
Selena was also on the star’s mind at a 2015 MTV Video Music Awards party, which is where Puth revealed that he spoke to Gomez for the first time.
“I was very floored by how well she handled herself and how mature she was,” Charlie said of the first time he met Gomez. “It’s nice to get to know the actual person and finding out she’s an interesting person… I’m happy that we’re friends.”
