Shayne Ward Engaged: Former ‘X Factor’ Star Gets Engaged To Girlfriend Faye McKeever

English pop singer Shayne Ward is all set to become a married man after asking his girlfriend of eight years, Faye Mckeever, to marry him Tuesday night.

Ward, who rose to fame in 2005 after winning the second season of The X Factor, reportedly popped the question during a romantic night out at the top of the OXO Tower in London and then took to Twitter to announce the engagement news to fans. “I have just asked @fayemckeever to marry me and she said………….. YES! X,” an elated Shayne wrote, along side of a photo of him kissing his new fiancee.

McKeever, an actress, also shared the good news on Twitter. “OMG @shaynetward has just asked me to marry him and I said………YES!!” she wrote, along with a picture showing off her sparkling new engagement ring.

Daily Mail notes that Ward, 27, has been dating his blonde sweetheart since 2004, and Faye has stuck with the singer through the ups and downs of his career in the music industry.

Since winning X Factor in 2005, Shayne has released three albums including the most recent Obsession.

However, it was revealed back in April last year that Simon Cowell’s Syco record label had made the decision not to renew his contract following poor sales of the record.

After being dropped from his record label, Ward decided to pursue a career in musical theater and is currently starring as Stacee Jaxx, the same part played by Tom Cruise, in the West End production of Rock Of Ages.

In addition to planning his wedding, Ward will also be returning to the studio to work on a new album following Rock Of Ages.
