Jennifer Lawrence And Amy Schumer’s Movie Off? Lawrence Moving To Montreal

It was only a few months ago that Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer were raving about their collaboration on a film script that the two were writing. The last the world heard of the project was that the stars had completed the draft for the film and were excited about the end result. In a number of interviews on the subject, both Jennifer and Amy relayed the basis of the script and shared that the characters they’d each be playing are very much like themselves.

As Elite Daily notes, Amy spoke on the subject of the movie and shared her excitement back in January.

“It’s going great! We’re sisters and, yeah, we… just finished a new draft and we’re just excited about it. It’s funny, it’s dirty, it’s real. It’s like us!”

While promoting Hunger Games last November, Lawrence also spoke up about the project.

“Amy, in this movie… she has it very together. It’s her lifelong dream to be a flight attendant. She works at the airport. And I’m a mess.”

Jen also gushed about the process of writing the script for the expected film in a chat with BBC.

“It was hilarious, because when you’re writing a comedy it’s not good enough unless you’re laughing out loud… So I’m laughing at my pages and I’m laughing at her pages and thinking that the whole process is hilarious. I’m thinking we’ve got a pretty funny, good movie.”

The excitement over the endeavor the two had begun seems to have faded with neither of the ladies discussing the project for around four months now. Amy has been busily promoting her new book, Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo, and Jen has been promoting and filming a number of projects, including the movie Passenger. Lawrence is also signed on to produce and star in Bad Blood, plus take on the lead in Red Sparrow and It’s What I Do.

As the publication notes, drafting and completing filming of a movie project is not a simple task, and it’s likely that the two women will regroup and eventually finish the anticipated project when they have more time to do so.

“Drafting and producing a feature-length film is no small task, even with a team of writers. There’s still a chance these two women, who each have massive careers independent of one another, are currently grinding away at making this buddy film a reality.”

As it stands, Jennifer Lawrence also seems set to make a move to Montreal for filming. The as yet untitled project Jen will be filming in the Canadian city is set to be directed by Darren Aronofsky. Back in June, there was an issue concerning the film’s production company finding Lawrence a second place to live. The first condo she rented was planning to ask her to leave based on their rules about no leases shorter than a one year. Owners of the unit wanted to rent the condo to the star for the 3- month time period Lawrence would be there for the filming, but the condo board had an issue with this. Residents also believed that Jen’s presence in the building, along with the coming and going of her bodyguard and staff, would cause a disturbance.

So is Jen still without a home away from home as she prepares to begin filming a movie that has a number of big name actors? MTL Blog assures us that the issue has now been cleared up, and Lawrence is able to stay in the swanky condo for the duration of the filming. Apparently, the board’s rejection of her lease led to a court case, and a judge ruled in Jen’s favor.

Now, it’s time for Jennifer Lawrence to listen to those famous words, “Lights, Camera, Action,” and she do what she does best, which is give Oscar-caliber performances in one exciting, entertaining film after the other.
