Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom Ready For Kids? Her Relationship With His Son Is A ‘Deal Breaker’

Katy Perry’s relationship with Orlando Bloom’s son is reportedly a “deal breaker” in the couple’s increasingly serious relationship as rumors swirl claiming Perry and Bloom are ready for kids.

According to reports, Katy and Orlando’s 5-year-old son, Flynn, have really hit it off since the two began dating earlier this year, and the actor loves how close his girlfriend has grown to the youngster.

“Orlando loves watching Katy with his son, she’s so good with him,” a source recently told Hollywood Life of Katy’s relationship with his son. “Katy is so good with Flynn that it’s made him fall even more in love with her.”

And it sounds like it’s imperative that Perry and Bloom’s son have such a strong friendship, as an insider admitted to Hollywood Life that not getting along with little Flynn would actually be a deal breaker for Orlando’s relationship with Perry.

“Orlando is all about being a dad so that could have been a deal breaker. If Katy wasn’t a natural with his son he would not be with her,” the source said of Bloom.

But it sounds like things are all good between Perry and Flynn as the couple contemplates having kids together, and Bloom’s ex even agrees that Katy would make a great stepmom.

An insider told E! News after Katy and Orlando went public with their relationship that Bloom’s ex-wife Miranda is happy that Perry and Flynn get along so well and would support her former husband and Perry should they decide to have kids of their own one day.

According to the site, Katy “seems to be really good with Flynn and that is important to [Miranda].”

The source also revealed that Flynn “always seems very happy” when he heads back to Kerr after spending time with Orlando and Katy, which means the Victoria’s Secret angel has given her stamp of approval on their romance.

The latest reports come shortly after an insider close to the couple, who went public with their romance back in February, claimed that the couple may even be ready to give Flynn a sibling soon.

Insiders close to the couple are revealing that Perry and Bloom have gotten pretty serious fairly quickly, and friends are anticipating that an engagement and kids could be coming sooner rather than later.

“[Orlando Bloom] would love to settle down with Katy Perry and have more kids,” a source told People this week, adding that Bloom, who was married to Kerr for three years between 2010 and 2013, “hasn’t been this serious about a girl since Miranda.”

The site also revealed that Katy and Orlando are getting serious fast in their relationship, despite only dating for a matter of months, and could potentially be heading towards marriage and kids sooner rather than later.

“They are serious about each other and their relationship,” the source said, noting that Perry and Bloom “seem to be heading” towards an engagement.

Katy and Orlando’s big baby revelations may come as a surprise to fans of the star, as Perry got candid about not being ready for kids just three years ago, even revealing that not being ready to start a family was a big factor in her 2012 split from ex-husband Russell Brand.

“[Russell] really wanted me to have children, and I knew I wasn’t ready,” Katy told Marie Claire in 2013 of having kids. “I really wanted to, but I knew I wasn’t ready for it. It wasn’t like, ‘Hey, let’s have a kid because we’re in love.'”

“I’m definitely not there yet, and I can’t plan that far in advance,” Perry continued at the time when asked about becoming a mom and having kids one day, less than three years after getting serious with Orlando.

“When I decide to have a family, I’ll just want to be Mom for a little bit,” Katy added.
