‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 7 Spoilers: What Do New Roles Reveal?

Game of Thrones Season 7 spoilers have been debated on the internet for quite a while now because it’s the only thing the hordes of fans have to tie them (well, all of us, really) over as we await the premiere in 2017. In addition, we don’t have any source material for this season. Since the production team has confirmed that this season will not be referencing George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire books, anything can and probably will happen. So what are some of the latest Game of Thrones Season 7 spoilers coming from the cast and crew?

The first set of Game of Thrones Season 7 spoilers comes from the International Business Times, who have kept tabs of all the spoilers thanks to the Watchers on the Wall fansite. According to the outlet, eight new roles have just been cast for the show, and they reveal a lot about the direction the show will be taken this season. They’re speculating that role of the handsome “young lord” in his early 20s is going to be Aurane Waters, who, fans of the book A Feast of Crows will recall, dealt the final death blow to Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey). But, remember: This season isn’t going to reference the books, so that “young lord” could actually be someone who is in the Khaleesi’s circle. After all, his very physical description sounds like just the kind of guy that Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) would go for.

Next, we come to the Game of Thrones Season 7 spoilers put forth by Parent Herald. Their spoilers trend more along the lines of the direction of the story in the coming season, and they’re specifically focused on what’s going on in Winterfell now that Jon Snow is the King in the North. Lyanna Mormont may have been the biggest advocate for Jon Snow (Kit Harington) to take the seat that Ned Stark once held, but this season, it looks like she’s merely just part of a bigger plan to betray the Stark family once and for all. When Winterfell was restored to the Starks, Lyanna Mormont reserved her loyalty for Bear Island. As an end result, if Sansa and Jon make a bid for the Iron Throne this season, they won’t have the backing of the Mormont family. But will they be so low as to actually kill the last few remaining Starks, after all, it took to finally restore them to the rightful throne?

Finally, we come to the Game of Thrones Season 7 spoilers that GameNGuide put forth earlier today: Fans actually have two battles to worry about in the coming season, and we don’t know which one we need to fight first. On one hand, we have the perpetual battle for the Iron Throne, with various characters declaring allegiance and conquering nations just for that purpose. Who sits on the throne in the end — a Lannister, a Stark, or a Targaryen? But on the other hand, we have a more pressing battle that our heroes have to face: the threat from the White Walkers. Yes, though we may not think of them as an integral part of the story, they’re proving to be part of a bigger picture in the Game of Thrones universe. Winter is here, and war will soon take place, but which fight will be more important: the fight for the Iron Throne or the fight against the White Walkers in the north? Whose loyalties will be to whom in the end?
