‘Destiny’: Xur’s Exotic Goods For August 19, A Blast Of Invective
Destiny players are just under a month from the release of Rise of Iron. If there is an Exotic piece that PlayStation or Xbox players have not received yet, they need to go check out Xûr this week. In addition to the rarely sold Invective shotgun, the mysterious vendor is selling Voidfang Vestments for the first time since the release of The Taken King.
This week’s hiding spot for Xûr is in the Reef social area. You’ll want to turn right from the spawn point, head down the stairs past the Bounty vendor, and then go in the first door to the right of the bottom of the stairs. The Agent of the Nine is tucked away in a corner on the right.
Xûr and his items will only be available in Destiny through the morning of Sunday, August 21. He will be gone as soon as the clock strikes 5 a.m. ET/2 a.m. PT.Exotic Gear on Sale

For those wondering what to get, here are a few helpful hints.
Invective
Shotgun-loving Destiny players should rejoice, as it has been a couple of months since Xûr sold the Invective. The Exotic Shotgun is brutal in Crucible events thanks to its combination of range, impact, and the “Full Auto” perk. The weapon this week may be disappointing for those who have played Destiny since launch, but it’s a fantastic pickup for those newer to the game.Helm of Saint-14
The Helm of Saint-14 is still the go-to helmet for Defender Titans in Destiny. Its main draw is the “Starless Night” perk that blinds enemies who walk into the Ward of Dawn, which makes them extremely vulnerable. The benefit is greater in PVE than PVP, but it’s still useful in both situations. The perks give the choice between “Ashes to Assets” for bonus Super energy on Grenade kills and “Second Thoughts” for bonus Super energy from Special Weapon kills. The final column perk is “Infusion,” which replenishes health each time you pick up an Orb of Light.
The split 44 Intellect / 47 Strength stat for the Helm of Saint-14 falls on the average side. Consider re-rolling with a Glass Needle to improve them, especially the Intellect.
Bones of Eao
These are the Exotic Boots for Hunters who like a little extra spring in their jump. The Bones of Eao intrinsic “Not Bound By Law” perk upgrades double jump with an additional jump. This instantly makes the ship jumping puzzle in the King’s Fall Raid easier, along with giving Hunters a mobility advantage over other Guardians in PVP activities. The 56 Intellect/59 Discipline stat roll is decent depending on your current setup. The choice between bonus Fusion Rifle or Rocket Launcher ammo is also okay depending on your play style. Re-roll if you need different bonus ammo perks or a different set of stats.
Voidfang Vestments
Voidfang Vestments is an Exotic Warlock chest piece that comes with a perk for the Voidwalker sub-class. The “Improved Axion Bolt” perk will spawn an additional seeker for Axion Bolt grenades and allows your Warlcok to respawn with full grenade energy. The chest piece also comes with optional perks for either bonus Pulse Rifle or Fusion Rifle ammo.
This piece was commonly sold during Destiny Year One, but this is the first time it has appeared in Xûr’s inventory for Year Two. Go ahead and pick up the upgraded version if you don’t have it already.
