Katy Perry Engaged? Orlando Bloom Expected To Propose Soon [Report]

Katy Perry isn’t engaged yet, but it might be just around the corner. While Orlando Bloom hasn’t popped the question to Perry, the couple’s relationship seems to be getting stronger each day.

A source close to Orlando Bloom recently told People that while the couple are “not engaged yet,” they “seem to be heading that way.” Perry and Bloom initially became public about their relationship during the Golden Globes. The couple appeared to be smitten at the awards ceremony earlier this year.

Supposedly, Orlando Bloom hasn’t been this serious about a relationship since he was last married to his ex-wife, Miranda Kerr. The two share custody of their 5-year old son, Flynn.

Katy Perry engaged to Orlando Bloom wouldn’t be too much of surprise. The unknown source close to the Pirates of the Caribbean star told the magazine that he “always gushes about Katy and thinks she is amazing in a million ways.” Bloom also can see his relationship with the pop star being a long term commitment, explained the insider. He is crazy about the hit singer.

“He would love to settle down with Katy and have more kids. He hasn’t been this serious about a girl since Miranda.”

Katy Perry isn’t engaged just yet. In fact, the ‘Firework’ singer is apparently in no rush to walk down the aisle, reported People. A close friend of the pop star explained why Perry isn’t necessarily ready to make a lifetime commitment, yet.

“Katy’s divorce from Russell [Brand] really messed her up emotionally.”

Katy Perry’s previous marriage to comedian Russell Brand ended abruptly. The couple had gotten married in India in 2010. In late 2011, Brand filed for divorce from the pop star. While Perry never got into much detail about her relationship with Russell Brand, she used to her music as an outlet to express herself. Perry did share that her late husband told her through a text message that he was filing for divorce, reported People.

“I don’t want to talk about him – my songs will say what I need to say.”

Seeing Katy Perry engaged might not happen for quite sometime. After the star’s failed marriage with Russell Brand, Perry wants to take her time with dating Orlando Bloom. A friend of the pop star explained that, “She’s not going to rashly make a huge commitment like marriage again unless she thinks it’s absolutely right.”

Though a Katy Perry engaged hasn’t been the case just yet, it doesn’t mean that the singer isn’t crazy about Orlando Bloom. Perry’s friend told People that the two have been “getting along really well.” While they clicked right away, the two value their personal space.

“Katy gives him space, and they’re both pretty independent. They are serious about each other and their relationship.”

While Katy Perry is no rush to get married, Orlando Bloom is allegedly ready to permanently commit to the singer. The actor is expected to propose to Perry very soon, reported Ok!.

A Katy Perry engagement might remain on the back burner for a little longer. The pop star seems to enjoy her independence a lot. When Perry’s divorce was finalized in 2012, she publicly discussed the importance of staying strong, despite her pain.

“I’m one of those people that likes to be fearless… I don’t like to live in fear because that traps you and your voices. Fear is a control tactic in the world that is negative and depressing and I don’t want to be associated with it.”

Katy Perry also explained how it’s important for a women to have a work and life balance.

“I always thought you could have a relationship and success. For a modern woman it’s important to be supported and that there is equality in every aspect. It’s not two halves that make a whole, it’s two wholes that make a whole.”
