Tom Hiddleston Barely Mentions Taylor Swift In New Interview

Tom Hiddleston had very little to say about his newfound relationship with Taylor Swift. If you wanted to learn more about the couple, then you will be disappointed with this story.

The Night Manager star is keeping mum when it comes to answering questions about his highly publicized relationship with Taylor Swift, 26. Hiddleston, 35, didn’t even mention her in his latest interview with The Hollywood Reporter on Friday, August 12. He says that he’s ignoring all the rumors that have been swirling lately.

“We all live in a world where everyone phone has a camera and there’s nothing new, really, about the spotlight on me, I think that’s what happens when you’re a public figure. I’ve learned that there are so many sides to a story and that sometimes there are a lot of stories out there which are false and the hardest thing is to try to not let those falsehoods affect your own life, that’s what I would say.”

Hiddleston previously confirmed in his last interview with The Hollywood Reporter back in July that he is dating the singer-songwriter. During that interview, he referred to her by her full name, and not by her first name or nickname. Hiddleston also told the outlet that despite the speculation about their sudden romance, their relationship is “not a publicity stunt.”

“The truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together, and we’re very happy. Thanks for asking. That’s the truth. It’s not a publicity stunt.”

It’s not clear in this recent interview if Hiddleston was addressing the split or engagement rumors. Both sets of rumors have been swirling for the past few weeks. Sources claim it’s been days since Swift and Hiddleston have been together since they are on opposite sides of the country right now. Swift and Hiddleston returned back from Australia last month, and then the actor had to fly back to film more scenes for Thor: Ragnarok.

But there’s hardly been Hiddleswift sightings since then, causing the rumors to swirl. Sources told Radar Online that Hiddleston has asked for some “space” since the couple has been with each other almost every day since they started dating back in June. Then, Hiddleston refused to talk about Swift in another interview with the Los Angeles Times last week when he was asked about Robert Downey Jr.’s Instagram post poking fun at his “I <3 T.S.” tank top from Swift’s Fourth of July party.

“Robert and I are very close and I got to know him working on the Avengers in 2011. There’s a lot of mutual affection,” Hiddleston simply said.

Then, the reporter proceeded to dig further into his relationship with Swift, which he refused to mention.

“I feel like it’s an expression of mutual admiration. It’s great. He’s very sweet,” he said of Downey Jr.

Sources claim Hiddleswift had to put the brakes on their relationship and cool things down for now. According to Reveal magazine, Swift wants to get married and she’s become “possessive” of Hiddleston, which has caused him to back off.

“When Tom packed up and left Taylor’s L.A. home, he refused to allow her to accompany him. He says he needs a few weeks of ‘alone time,’ and assured Taylor that the space apart will strengthen their relationship.”

Hiddleswift will have to wait weeks – maybe months – for another couple sighting again. It’s the reason why fans have seen photos of Swift and Hiddleston going to the gym separately instead of together.

“When they got back to L.A., she wanted to be with him every second of the day. He barely had time to make calls, and had to beg her to let him go to the gym alone.”

Hiddleston is rumored to be thinking things over as he gets some room to breathe. According to the report, Hiddleswift were last seen together on July 27, which has them at 19 days apart, so far.

According to an E! News report, Hiddleston and Swift became Instagram official last week when the actor joined the social media app and Swift followed him. Hiddleston then reciprocated by following her back. The couple first went public back in mid-June when the British tabloid The Sun first published the photos of the new couple kissing on the beach near Swift’s home.

Swift started dating Hiddleston shortly after ending her 15-month relationship with DJ Calvin Harris on June 1. Hiddleston and Swift were spotted dancing the night away at the Met Gala back in May. Swift has kept tight-lipped about their relationship even though they have been papped all over the world.
