‘World Of Warcraft Mists Of Pandaria’ Launches Tonight

I am so excited. The new World Of Warcraft Mists Of Pandaria expansion launches tonight at Midnight, PDT. I have a tasty supply of my favorite snacks on hand and the soda is chilling in the fridge. My self-built gaming computer is tweaked to perfection and I have already selected a full nights worth of my favorite live Grateful Dead shows to listen to while I explore the new continent of Pandaria. Just like every one of the nine million dedicated players of World Of Warcraft, I am ready to continue my 8 year love affair with the best MMO that has ever existed.

The fine folks at Blizzard Entertainment have assured us that Mists Of Pandaria is everything gamers expect from a WOW expansion and much, much more. They promise that Pandaria will have something for everyone who loves World of Warcraft; even old hands who remember the glory days of Vanilla WOW and 40 man raids.

Senior software engineer Darren Williams commented on what players will find on the exotic continent of Pandaria:

“We’ve also gone back to giving players a single continent to explore, so there’s a ton of locations to uncover and new lore to discover. It’s a more focussed experience overall than Cataclysm; the last expansion pack had all these new features, but it was change to the old world of Azeroth. Mists has a brand new continent and content to offer.”

Pandaria’s senior game designer Scott Mercer also added his thoughts about all the new content in Mists Of Pandaria:

“We have a tremendous amount of exclusive content that we didn’t have in Cataclysm. We have 5 player dungeon quests, pet battles, a raised level cap to 90… there’s Challenge Mode which is this kind of timed dungeon experience and you compare your times against other players on an in-game scoreboard. There are also a ton of daily quests.”

The team at Blizzard is hard at work to make the transition to the new expansion as smooth as possible. Community Manager Zarhym made a detailed post on the Battle.Net forums about what will happen when the clock strikes midnight tonight:

“The time is nearly upon us as the mists begin to part and a new age of discovery amidst turmoil begins! For those of you prepared to begin your adventures the moment Mists of Pandaria is launched in your region, we’ve put together some important details that should get your expedition underway.”

“As soon as we activate the new expansion content on launch, players who already have a Mists of Pandaria license with the data installed will gain instant access. If you’re in the game when the clock strikes midnight, you don’t even have to logout!”

“So, what happens at midnight for those of us with Mists ready to go?”

“A yellow System Message will appear in your Chat Log telling you to visit Orgrimmar or Stormwind to start your travels.”

“Level-85 characters will receive a new quest, no matter where they are in the world, which will guide them to Varian or Garrosh for further orders. If you’re online at midnight you will receive the quest even if your Quest Log is full — or you can visit Varian or Garrosh to get started on your journey to Pandaria.”

“Level-85 players will notice their experience bars automatically change so that experience can once again be earned.”

“Players who are at the Character Creation screen at midnight will notice the button to create a pandaren character will be enabled. (Reminder: This also applies to players who don’t have a Mists of Pandaria license, as all races are now included with a base copy of World of Warcraft.)”

“Players who are at the Character Creation screen at midnight will notice the button to create a monk character will be enabled.”

We’ve been very hard at work on this new technology with the goal of ensuring that players can enjoy a more stable and seamless transition into the next expansion than ever before. Our staff will be monitoring realm stability and gameplay issues around the clock, as we want to provide you with the best experience possible.”

“We’ll see you on Pandaria!”

I can’t wait for the clock to strike the magic hour of midnight to begin my adventures in Pandaria. I have been playing World Of Warcraft since the original beta in 2004 and I still enjoy every second of this great game. My Horde hunter is all geared up to complete every single new quest, conquer every new challenge and progress to level 90 as quickly as possible. My guildmates in the Vengeance Guild on the Illidan server are as excited as I am to reach the level cap and face all the new raid bosses Blizzard can throw at us.

A new era begins tonight for World Of Warcraft and readers of The Inquisitr will be able to enjoy my adventures in the Mists of Pandaria as they occur. As always, I will be sharing my in-game experiences with you as I explore Pandaria, defeat fearsome enemies and work hard to reach level 90.

I hope to see you there in Pandaria tonight. If you are on Illidan server and you come across an Orc Hunter named Ghodzilla, be sure to send me a tell and say hi. And be sure to come back to The Inquisitr often to read all about my travels in the Mists Of Pandaria.
