Rihanna And Drake’s Relationship Not The ‘Realest’ According To Her

Rihanna and Drake have been rumored to be dating for some time now, and the gossip has mainly been fuelled by the latter’s public shootouts and declarations of love. Just a few days ago, Drake proclaimed his love for the “Work” singer while performing at Madison Square Garden in New York with Future. He charged up the crowd during the event, shouting, “If you’ve got love for Rihanna in New York City… cuz you know I’ve got love for Rihanna.”

This is as reported by Music Times. Going a bit into the history of their relationship, Drake and Rihanna were first rumored to be dating in 2009, although RiRi was quick to shoot down the rumors, saying that they were just friends. But in January 2010, Drake revealed that they were “kind of dating.” This was during an interview with XXL Magazine, stating, “People thought I was dating Rihanna, and that was semi-true.”

Fast forward to the present and rumors about their relationship are as vibrant as ever, with a little jealousy thrown into the mix. Just in June this year, Drake was said to be dating Hailey Baldwin after the two were spotted hanging out together in restaurants. At the time, numerous publications reported that Rihanna was jealous of the couple. However, the speculation soon came to an end after an insider revealed to E! News that Hailey’s heart belonged to Justin Bieber, whom she was seeing, and of course Drake went on to declare his love for the “Needed Me” artist. The following is an excerpt of the report.

“[Hailey] always has been such a good friend to him and she feels disrespected by many things he has done lately. She was very upset about the date that he just went on with Nicola. Hailey wants to be with Justin, but he is just always back and forth with her and that drives her mad.”

That said, Rihanna has always shied away from speaking about her relationships. Yet, she did reveal to Vanity Fair a few months ago that the fame and image people have of her usually prevented her from having healthy relationships, as it almost always made her wonder about the intentions of the people she was dating. The following was her statement in regards to this.

“I honestly think how much fun it would be to live my reputation. People have this image of how wild and crazy I am, and I’m not everything they think of me. The reality is that the fame, the rumors—this picture means this, another picture means that—it really freaks me out. It made me back away from even wanting to attempt to date. It’s become second nature for me to just close that door and just be O.K. with that. I’m always concerned about whether people have good or bad intentions.”

While on the interview, Rihanna stated that her last real and official relationship was with Chris Brown back in 2009. They broke up after he assaulted her.

Just a couple of days ago, Drake and Rihanna were reported to be enjoying their time together after performing a concert in Toronto. According to Lianey Gossip, Drake took Rihanna to Ripley’s Aquarium, sharing a romantic dinner right in front of the glass fish tank.

Currently, both Rihanna and Drake are said to be doing extremely well in their careers, with the latter being labelled as the Muhammad Ali of music streaming by Billboard after his Views album garnered more that 2.1 billion audio on-demand streams. On the other hand, Rihanna is set to be awarded the MTV Video Music Award later this month. This is as according to the BBC.
