Miley Cyrus Vows To ‘Destroy’ Blake Shelton And Adam Levine On Season 11 Of ‘The Voice’

Season 11 of The Voice is going to feature some major changes.

The official promo video pays tribute to Close Encounters of the Third Kind and introduces next season’s new coaches, Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus. How will the new coaches fare in the coming season?

According to Sounds Like Nashville, the promo clip features Blake Shelton and Adam Levine dressed in Men in Black like suits while Keys and Cyrus emerge from a spaceship.

“Do you come in peace?” Shelton asks.

“No,” Keys responds.

“We’ve come to destroy you!” Cyrus adds.

According to Hollywood Life, Shelton and Levine have their hands full with the new coaches.

“We’re in trouble,” Shelton tells Levine in the clip.

Considering how Christina Aguilera won last season, Shelton and Levine may very well be in trouble once again.

In addition to the new video, Mashable has released some behind the scenes footage of the making of the promo clip.

“Two of the deadliest opponents we’ve ever faced as coaches here on the show,” Shelton admitted in the clip.

As far as Keys is concerned, the singer thought the alien theme was perfect for her and Cyrus.

“It’s fun, it’s sassy, it’s all about the women,” Keys shared. “And a good description of how me and Miley are coming to kick ass!”

Although Miley Cyrus is ready to “destroy” Shelton and Levine, the country crooner is confident that Cyrus will have a hard time adjusting to the competition.

“I don’t think Miley has a real good chance of surviving this thing because she keeps her tongue out a lot. You stick your tongue out in this weather your gonna get a mouth full of dirt,” Shelton shared.

At the same time, Shelton isn’t afraid of his longtime rival on the show, Levine.

“Adam is a little bit of a wuss about this…” he added. “I think it’s gone come down between me and Alicia. We are the toughest.”

Not to be left out, the video ends with an alien looking Carson Daly sauntering out of the spaceship.

Meanwhile, E! Online is reporting that Keys and Cyrus have developed a close bond with each other on set this season.

“Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus seem to have become super close during their time together on the show,” a member of the audience told the outlet. “During some of the performances, Miley and Alicia would look at each other and smile, nod, or grab hands.”

Shelton and Levine have long been fan favorites on the hit series, but it sounds as though Keys and Cyrus might steal the show.

“There was a moment when the judges were discussing one of the songs Miley had chosen for her team members to battle and Alicia said, in reference to Miley, ‘This girl is a secret weapon! She knows her stuff. She’s a dope girl.'” the source continued. “Miley gave her a high five. You could sense a lot of love there.”

In addition to showing her friendship with Keys, Cyrus was also busy entertaining audience members.

“There was one point when Miley got up and walked onto the stage and danced a little bit, and the crowd went nuts,” the insider explained.

Clearly, Cyrus is bringing all of her game and is ready to take on Shelton and Levine.

And she’s having fun doing it.

Apart from the new coaches, the season will feature a string of new mentors, including Bette Midler, Joan Jett, Sammy Hagar, and Charlie Puth.

Season 11 of The Voice is scheduled to premiere on NBC Aug. 21. The season will kick off after the Rio Olympic’s closing ceremonies.
