‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7: Ross Marquand Teases Rebuilding Society, Choices, And More Survivor Communities [Spoilers]

The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere will be here in just a few months. With the date quickly approaching, the cast and crew are revealing small TWD spoilers. Recently, Ross Marquand, who plays Aaron on the zombie apocalypse series, spoke about what to expect. Rebuilding society, choices, and encountering more survivor communities were just a few things revealed by the actor and celebrity impressionist.

Spoilers for Season 7 of The Walking Dead are ahead. If you do not want any hints on what is coming next, then stop reading.

The world will expand for Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his group. Instead of just meeting one community of survivors, fans will see several in Season 7. Ross Marquand confirmed this in an interview with PopSugar. The Walking Dead actor also hinted what else to expect.

It was previously teased by Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon on TWD, that fans may not be prepared for The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere. Sources claim that the first episode is going to be emotional and brutal. Marquand confirmed this in his interview with PopSugar. He said the person who Negan killed is someone the cast cared about a lot. The celebrity impressionist also teased that viewers would feel the pain of losing that person just as much.

Besides the Hilltop Colony, the Sanctuary, and the Kingdom, expect to see several other survivor communities. Ross Marquand explained that the world is expanding and the Alexandrians are going to realize that there are not just a few survivors in the world, but a lot of them. Some are good and others are not. As the Inquisitr previously speculated, one of those groups may be the Whisperers. Fans might have even seen a glimpse of them in the Season 7 trailer.

Another community that might be introduced in The Walking Dead is Oceanside. The theory is the result of The Spoiling Dead Fans posting about filming approval being given to TWD to shoot scenes on Jekyll Island. In Robert Kirkman’s comic books, Oceanside is a community of survivors that trades with Alexandria, the Hilltop Colony, and others after the war with Negan ends. For a time, Michonne (Danai Gurira) even works at Oceanside before returning to Alexandria. Fans have to wonder what this means for Rick and Michonne, aka “Richonne.”

Marquand explained that in Season 7, the survivors will have choices on where they live and who they work with. He added that it is the start of “rebuilding society.”

Before society starts to rebuild, expect The Walking Dead characters to be torn down. That is what Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is going to do in the first half of Season 7. Norman Reedus spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the season premiere. He revealed that Negan and the death of a beloved character is going to change everything. Power has shifted and Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s character will be in control. Some will try to fight the TWD villain and others will just accept it. What is worse than accepting it? Those that completely give up.

There will also be characters that point fingers and assign blame, most likely at Rick Grimes. After losing a member of their group to Negan’s barbed wire baseball bat, Lucille, Rick will probably blame himself. However, he doesn’t seem like the type to give up. He may put on an act for Negan and the Saviors, but he will come up with a plan. As comic book readers know, that plan involves Jesus (Tom Payne) and Ezekiel (Khary Payton), whom fans will meet in Season 7, Episode 3.

What do you think of what Ross Marquand had to say about TWD? There isn’t that much longer to wait. AMC’s The Walking Dead Season 7 premieres on October 23.
