Luann de Lesseps Defends Jules’ Eating Disorder: Are Bethenny And Carole Out Of Line?

Luann de Lesseps has had an interesting year, as she’s fallen in love, hurt her friends, and has been busy planning a Florida wedding to her future husband, Thomas D’Agostino. And while Luann has been over the moon with her new relationship, it sounds like she has been paying attention to the new housewife, Jules Wainstein. While Jules is dealing with plenty of tough issues, including an eating disorder and a cheating scandal, Luann can’t understand why Bethenny Frankel and Carole Radziwill would be so judgmental of this new housewife just because she’s so skinny and has some personal problems.

According to a new Bravo report, Luann de Lesseps is now dishing her thoughts about Bethenny and Carole, who have been labeled as the mean girls of this season of The Real Housewives of New York. De Lesseps may not have been involved in the conversations, as she was busy falling in love and essentially ignoring her co-stars, but she does have an opinion about Bethenny and Carole after watching the episodes.

“I don’t know if it’s a projection. I think they are waify; there’s no doubt that Bethenny and Carole are skinny as can be. They’re shorter and whatever. And there’s no mistake that Jules says, ‘I have an eating disorder.’ So I think they’re two different things,” Luann de Lesseps revealed during a recent interview on Sirius XM’s Wake Up with Taylor, where she discussed Bethenny Frankel and Carole Radziwill’s behavior in regards to the new housewife on The Real Housewives of New York.

During the interview, Luann de Lesseps revealed that she believes the women could have handled the situation better. Even though they didn’t know Jules all that well, it sounds like Luann would have handled the situation better.

“I feel that when somebody has a problem, to be picked on is certainly not the way to help them. So I disagree with them dissing her and her weight and kind of not being more aware of it and sympathetic towards her. So I didn’t like that. I didn’t like all the picking that went on and then they picked on her house and then they picked on her husband,” Luann de Lesseps points out, referring to one of the first episodes where Bethenny made fun of Michael’s height.

Plus, both Carole and Bethenny were not exactly the nice girls during their visit to the Wainstein mansion in the Hamptons. They were very critical of everything, including their construction timeline, how they are handling the renovations and even how the food was presented and consumed by the host of the brunch. But Luann understands that Jules has an eating disorder and that she continues to struggle with her health on a daily basis.

“Every day’s a new day. You’re never cured of an eating disorder, but you live with it, and you can live a life with it. It’s really hard to talk about. You can live with it, and you can live a normal life,” Luann de Lesseps continues in the interview, according to Bravo.

Throughout the season, Wainstein learned that her husband wasn’t exactly interested in the marriage and she later learned that he was cheating on her. Luann de Lesseps is now learning that her future husband is cheating on her. Even though they were planning an engagement party, Thomas D’Agostino was caught making out with another woman just 48 hours before the party. According to Hollywood Take, the cheating scandal hasn’t really changed anything for her. De Lesseps is still planning on getting married, even though Thomas may not be trustworthy.
