Taylor Swift’s Low-Key Summer Look Isn’t That Affordable

Taylor Swift is not just known for writing hit breakup songs. She’s also known for her quirky street style. The singer -songwriter had fans talking when she stepped out with curly hair in New York City over the weekend.

Rumors have been swirling that Taylor Swift is literally going back to her roots by wearing her hair curly. There are other speculations that Swift, 26, is trying to revamp her good girl image in wake of her feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. In attempt to make herself attainable, her shoes certainly aren’t.

Taylor stepped out in her cutest summer look yet. On Monday, Aug. 8, the “Wildest Dreams” singer was spotted in New York City’s Tribeca neighborhood in a look that gave fans major throwback vibes. Taylor looked fresh and young in her denim overall minidress paired with a red tank V-neck tank top, in which she opted to go braless. She also showed off her enviable toned legs and paired her look with an emerald green crossbody bag that featured gold hardware, according to InStyle.

To top off her carefree and free-spirited look, Swift opted to wear her hair in loose curls. Her new hairstyle had fans wondering if she’s finally growing out her curls or if a new album is in the works. Swift also kept her makeup minimal with a lip tint and a light cat-eye.

Not everyone noticed the shoes that Tay Tay wore because they were too busy looking at her head. She wore Gucci floral print sneakers that cost a whopping $695, according to FootWearNews.com. These white sneakers feature Gucci’s signature stripes with embroidered applique, shiny snakeskin, and bows on the heel.

Luckily, the rest of Swift’s look is just as affordable. Well, kind of. According to TaylorSwiftStyle.com (an entire website dedicated to her street style looks), her Sophia Denim Overall Dress is $102, her Brandy Melville Joanne Tank in Heather Red is $29.95. But, it gets step again since her Mami Mini Trunk Leather Shoulder Bag is a hefty $1,820.00, but the site offers some affordable alternatives.

According to the report, Taylor is a huge lover of expensive tennis sneakers. Just a few months ago, she was spotted wearing Saint Laurent’s white star-print leather sneakers when she was going through that brief grunge phrase.

And, during her recent trip to Australia, Swift was spotted wearing white Adidas Stan Smith sneakers which cost a reasonable $75, according to another report via FootWearNews.com. During that time, the singer chose to wear denim overall shorts over a white long-sleeved t-shirt and the same emerald green crossbody bag. We’re sensing a theme here. She wore those same sneakers again when she was seen performing with Nelly in the Hamptons over the past weekend.

Taylor is usually a Keds girl. Even her own fans are aware of that. Taylor has been the face of the Keds campaign since 2012. Earlier this year, the shoe brand decided to revamp its branding by adding some girl power, according to a previous report via Fortune. The latest advertising campaign starred Taylor alongside Alison Williams, Ciara, and Tori Kelly wearing their traditional canvas sneakers.

These ads feature lines such as “Titans of Industry. Mavens of Style,” “Make Your Move. Leave Your Mark,” and “All Dressed Up With Everywhere to Go.” This new ad campaign was created by KBS and chose to follow the theme of last year’s ads that featured Taylor Swift. It also goes back to its roots when it launched 100 years ago with the slogan: “Ladies First Since 1916.”

It’s not clear if Swift will continue to be the face of Keds. With her newfound interest in high-fashion brands, it’s safe to say that Swift isn’t just a Keds girl anymore.
