‘Fast And Furious 8’ Release Date: How Will ‘Fast 8’ Cast Be Affected Following Feud Between The Rock And Vin Diesel?

Ahead of Fast and Furious 8‘s release date next year, the cast of the new movie has been shaken up by an ongoing feud between The Rock and Vin Diesel. The latest instalment in the Fast and Furious franchise is set to be one of the biggest movie launches of 2017, and it has a big reputation to live up to, with last year’s release of Fast and Furious 7 becoming the third highest grossing movie of all time. So what do we know about the latest installment in the high-octane franchise, Fast and Furious 8?

For a start, according to Digital Spy, Fast and Furious 8 will release worldwide on April 14, 2017. Whilst the franchise’s eighth installment is still just under a year away, the cast hasn’t shied away from pre-planning the future of the series, with Vin Diesel recently confirming that Fast and Furious 9 will hit cinemas on April 19, 2019, and Fast and Furious 10 set to make its debut on April 2, 2021. However, beyond that, fans of the series shouldn’t expect any new additions, with the Rock already confirming the end of the series.

However, there’s trouble ahead for the cast of Fast and Furious 8. According to the Guardian, The Rock posted a late-night, lengthy social media rant, clearly aimed at his Fast and Furious co-star Vin Diesel. Reports confirm that there’s been a considerable amount of tension between the two stars on the set of the new film.

The feud between Vin Diesel and The Rock already appears to be creating divisions in the cast of the upcoming film, with different stars coming out in support of other Diesel or The Rock. So could this feud jeopardize the future of Fast and Furious? Well, spats between stars on a movie set are actually pretty common, so it’s likely that Diesel and The Rock will kiss and make up. However, the division could have a lasting effect on the cast of the film and upcoming Fast and Furious installments.

The filming of Fast and Furious 8 has so far been relatively high profile, with the cast and crew spotted in a number of locations from Cleveland to Cuba. In fact, garnering attention for the new installment appears to be a priority for Diesel, Johnson and the other cast members, which is likely part of their contract with Universal.

Whilst being filmed in a number of locations, Fast 8 will actually be set in and around New York. However, considering filming an action movie of this scope is so expensive in the city, the production team are largely using Cleveland as a fake New York. At the same time, most overseas segments are filmed and set in Cuba. Filming across different locations isn’t easy, though, with the crew said to be transporting around $17 million worth of vehicles with them.

As aforementioned, Fast and Furious 8 is set to launch in cinemas worldwide on April 14 next year. The main stars will, of course, be Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Vin Diesel. However, the film will also bring back a number of stars from Fast and Furious 7, including Kurt Russell and Jason Statham, alongside new cast members, including Game of Thrones stars Nathalie Emmanuel and Kristofer Hivju, both of whom will give the series a further boost when it comes to star power.
