Chicago Bears Defense Dominates St. Louis Rams On Way To 23-6 Victory

The Chicago Bears toppled the St. Louis Rams on Sunday thanks largely in part to the team’s superior defense, which held St. Louis to just 6 points.

Major Wright returned an interception for 45 yards and the touchdown as Chicago defeated St. Louis 23-6 on Sunday afternoon. Wright made his big interception just after the Bears kicked a field goal for a 13-6 lead in the fourth quarter. On the previous play, Bradford was hit hard by Israel Idonije and Stephen Paea.

The Rams (1-2) were held to just 160 yards while quarterback Sam Bradford was sacked six times. The Chicago Bears (2-1), on the other, hand played better than they did in their loss to the Green Bay Packers, although Jay Cutler was less than impressive.

Jay Cutler competed 17 of 31 passes for 183 yards and was sacked twice and picked off once, still a marked improvement over the Green Bay Packers loss in which he was sacked seven times and threw for four interceptions.

Helping along the Bears defense was Israel Idonije, who had 2 1/2 sacks.

The Chicago Bears defense left Sam Bradford with an 18 for 35 outing with 152 yards and two interceptions.

Chicago’s defense was helped along by a 10 day rest while its offense seemed rusty and unprepared.

Cutler, in the meantime, proved he was there to play, scrambling at one point to the 6-yard like on a 21-yard run that led to the 13-6 Chicago Bears lead.

Do you think the Chicago Bears defense ultimately won Sunday’s game after a dismal offensive performance by Jay Cutler and his crew?
