Thomas Gibson Suspended From ‘Criminal Minds’ After Allegedly Kicking Writer

Actor Thomas Gibson has now been suspended from the show Criminal Minds for at least one episode and maybe more. Deadline shared the news about what happened with Thomas Gibson and what the show is going to do without him. This is all after a physical altercation with a writer-producer on the set of Criminal Minds. Thomas allegedly kicked co-executive producer Virgil Williams.

Thomas Gibson already gave his own statement to Deadline and explained his side of the story.

“There were creative differences on the set and a disagreement. I regret that it occurred. We all want to work together as a team to make the best show possible. We always have and we always will.”

Thomas Gibson will be missing from one episode and maybe two because of this altercation. This won’t be the first episode of the season, but Gibson will be missing from a few episodes possible three and four. Being suspended from the show is not the only thing that happened to Gibson. They have also taken away his right to direct one of the episodes as planned. He has already directed six episodes of the show, but Gibson won’t be doing it this season.

Right now, the Human Resources department is looking into what happened with Thomas Gibson. He won’t be featured on the episodes he is missing from at all. They are going to write him out of these episodes. Right now, they are looking into Gibson’s future on the show. It would not be surprising at all if they decided to punish him more in the future.

Rumors are that this is not the first time that Thomas Gibson has got in trouble for the show. Several years ago, he allegedly pushed a producer. This was someone different. At the time, they made Thomas Gibson go to anger management classes, but they kept him on the show. Thomas may end up messing up his job on Criminal Minds this time, though. He is lucky that they didn’t fire him the first time around.

Fox News shared a few more details about what went down with Thomas Gibson on the set of Criminal Minds. Thomas allegedly kicked the writer in the leg during their disagreement. Gibson has reportedly been off of the set for two weeks already. The writer went to his agent about what went down, and the agent spoke to CBS executives. Gibson gave the same statement to TMZ that he did to Deadline. It sounds like Thomas is going to stay pretty quiet on this matter.

It will be very interesting to see how Criminal Minds does a few episodes without the character Aaron Hotchner. They may decide to mention that Aaron is gone for a reason, or they could simply just write scenes that don’t need him in them. The fans can’t wait to see how this all goes down.

If CBS was to make the big decision not to keep Thomas Gibson around, then they would have to do something with his character. They might decide to kill him off or simply just have him move on. This would be a big change, but shows have lost actors before and been able to recover just fine. Criminal Minds has such a huge fanbase that it should be just fine no matter how this ends up going down.

Are you shocked to hear Thomas Gibson allegedly kicked a producer on the show? Do you think that they should kick Thomas off the show? Sound off in the comments section below, and don’t miss new episodes of Criminal Minds when they air this fall on CBS. The new episodes start airing on September 12.
