Karrueche Tran Has ‘Nothing To Say’ To Critics Who Question Her Rise To Fame: ‘It Is What It Is’

Karrueche Tran stuns in a colorful new fashion spread for Kode Magazine, where she also opens up about her budding acting career, love/hate relationship with social media, and the effects of having her personal life thrust into the spotlight as a result of her newfound celebrity status.

In her exclusive interview with Kode Magazine, Karrueche reflects on her whirlwind rise to fame before opening up about the impact that her highly-publicized romance with Chris Brown has had on her personal life.

Speaking on the “biggest drawback” of having her personal life thrust into the spotlight, Karrueche Tran admits that it’s “hard” to see her “personal business” being made available to the world, albeit noting that the experience hasn’t changed who she is as a person.

“It’s hard having to see my personal business available to the world. But at this point I look at it like it is what it is,” Karrueche explains of losing her anonymity. “I don’t allow it to affect me or change who I am. That’s why I like to be a home body and balance myself out. I’ll stay at home for a few days and just mellow out and have some ‘me’ time.”

While Tran may describe herself as a “homebody,” the A Weekend with the Family actress has been hard at work this year with her various acting, modeling, and entrepreneurship projects, which includes her highly successful KaePop collaboration with ColourPop cosmetics as well as her festival capsule collection with This Is A Love Song.

Speaking on the venture that has been the most challenging for her so far, Karrueche admits that she “never expected” to see herself in an acting role due to her shy personality. However, she reveals that she’s working to hone her craft by taking acting classes.

“I never expected that one day I would get into acting, but I love it. I used to think I was shy and now I’m really coming into my own and learning a lot more about myself. I’m also learning how much work goes into acting which is why I’m taking the steps now to take classes and perfect my craft,” Karrueche explains to the mag.

When asked how she responds to critics who credit her rise to fame with having previously dated Chris Brown, Karrueche Tran reveals that she has “nothing to say” to the negative remarks and admits that the “most ridiculous rumor” she has ever heard about herself is that she doesn’t have a job.

“I have nothing to say to anyone who has anything negative to say,” Karrueche Tran admits before revealing that people often think she doesn’t “have a job” or that she doesn’t work in general.

Karrueche further explains that even if she had never been discovered, she would still possess the same work ethic as she did while working as a personal assistant and styling assistant.

“Working my butt off!” Karrueche exclaims. “Before I became ‘discovered’ I had two jobs. I was a personal assistant and a stylist’s assistant on the side. I know that wherever I would have ended up, in whatever profession, I’d still have the same mentality and work ethic. Continue to grow and mature.”
