‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Confirms Sebastian Stan’s Winter Soldier — Black Panther Appearance Unknown

Avengers: Infinity War will herald the introduction from one phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to the other. Sebastian Stan, who plays the Winter Soldier, has been confirmed via the Hollywood Reporter to be in the Marvel movie. He was last seen in Captain America: Civil War as a threat due to his psychological reconditioning via Hydra.

It was revealed by the Hollywood Reporter that Stan was cast in We Have Always Lived in the Castle. One of the flick’s producers is Ant-Man’s Michael Douglas. This is an adaptation of the Shirley Jackson story. The author is known for her horror novel of The Haunting of Hill House.

When Avengers: Infinity War is released, they will have hopefully found a way to cure the Winter Soldier of his psychological ailment. It hasn’t been confirmed yet that he’ll be in the Black Panther movie, but he did wind up in the country of Wakanda under cryogenic stasis and hopefully he’ll be purged of his problem. It would make sense for him to be in the flick along with actor Chadwick Boseman, as this speculation would likely be explored in the future, according to ComicBook.com.

This is in reference to the Captain America: Civil War mid-credits scene where Steve Rogers gives T’Challa fair warning that people will be coming after the Winter Soldier.

Black Panther responded, “Let them try.”

Sebastian Stan goes along with such reasoning as he talked about where he left off in Civil War, according to Cinema Blend a couple of months ago. It seems rather speculative even on his end on how he’ll come to pass in Infinity War.

“I don’t know, man. I mean, there’s obviously a very clear answer but I’m not maybe say it, now (sic). Where did he end up at the end of the movie? That’s the movie he should be in. I feel like that would be the natural… But I don’t know.”

The folks at Cinema Blend feel Stan was being coy about it in order to avoid those Marvel snipers. What is known is that Sebastian Stan does have six more movie deals with Marvel Studios. This leaves plenty of opportunity for Marvel’s phase three and four.

Since Avengers: Infinity War is confirmed to have Sebastian’s return, back in April, the Russo brothers made an off-hand remark regarding 67 characters appearing in the movie. Then later, it was said that “the movie features 68 distinct characters, not 67.”

Marvel fans speculated this to be an actual number in the Avengers sequel, but there was a clarification on that amount made by writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, according to an interview with the Huffington Post.

“Well, I mean that number is literally — that number comes from the fact that that’s everyone who’s already been introduced. If you line up all the character’s who are available to use from the prior Marvel movies, it racks up to about 60 something characters, let alone the new ones you could bring in,” said Markus.

Avengers: Infinity War was also announced to be two separate movies, according to Deadline Hollywood. The release dates still remain the same.

Joe Russo surmised this event to be unifying of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe and touted the Infinity War movie as highly significant when it comes to the plethora of characters, according to ComicBook.com.

“People will not be disappointed in the amount of characters in the movie. The concept of Infinity War is that the Marvel universe unites to battle the greatest threat to the world and universe that you’ve ever seen, and we’re going to honor that concept.”
